LECSmEarly Police officers Amanda Williams and Cpl Brandon McMillian observed a vehicle sitting at the mini storage buildings in the 700 block of Longhorn Dr in Early Saturday night, which led to the arrest of a man for burglary of a building, possibly linked to other burglaries in the area, according to Early Police Chief David Mercer.

At approximately 8:15pm, the officers noticed the vehicle, which attempted to flee upon their approach and eventually stopping on Autumn Drive, several blocks from the mini-storage building, reported Mercer.

Detective Mike McCoy went to check the storage building while officers were out with the vehicle and learned that 3 units had been broken into and the locks had been cut.

According to police, the suspect had thrown a pair of bolt cutters as he turned onto Autumn Drive.  The bolt cutters were recovered by officers.  Officers also recovered several items of stolen property inside the vehicle and located the cut padlocks that had been thrown from the scene, said Mercer.

The suspect, 37-year-old Eric Michael Ganos from Killeen, also lived in Blanket with a girlfriend was arrested and charged with 3 charges of burglary of a building along with Driving While License Invalid with Previous Convictions.  Ganos is being held in lieu of $31,500 bonds in the Brown County Jail.

Early Police Department has investigated several storage building burglaries over the past 4 weeks that have occurred at several other locations in town. Evidence from those scenes will be compared with evidence from this burglary involving Ganos, Mercer said. The investigation is continuing.

*7:57am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the Food Plaza in the 2800 block of Southside Drive regarding a hit and run.  According to the report, the 16-year-old complainant stated that an unknown white “jeep like” vehicle rear ended her car while she was waiting on the red light at 4th and Magnolia.

Tuesday, September 11

*4:55pm-Brownwood Police were called to a residence on Vincent Street regarding suspicious Facebook messages.  According to the report, the complainant showed officers messages between a 14-year-old female and a 30-year-old male.

Friday, September 14

*12:10pm-Brownwood Police received a report of terroristic threat in the 300 block of Bluffview Drive.

*8:19pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 100 block of CC Woodson Road regarding an assault.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her 13-year-old son had been assaulted by an unknown male at a location on Avenue D just prior to contacting the police.

*10:26pm-Brownwood Police were called to 401 W. Commerce regarding the theft of a cell phone.  According to the report, a complainant stated that his 9-year-old daughter accidentally left her cell phone in a changing room. When she returned it was missing.

*10:50pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Vine Street regarding a wanted person, identified as 17-year-old Christopher Riley.  According to police, a caller stated that Riley was walking on foot with his girlfriend southbound from the Vine Street underpass.  Dispatch advised officers that Riley had two warrants for his arrest.  Riley was located at a convenience store in the 1200 block of Austin Avenue where he gave officers a false name upon contact.  This call led to the arrest of Riley for the two warrants and for Fail to Identify Fugitive/Intentionally Give False Information.

*11:31pm-Brownwood Police received a report of assault from a victim via phone call.  According to the report, a suspect has been identified.

* The Brownwood city marshal arrested 18-year-old Richard Austin Ammons for Public Intoxication by Minor.

Saturday, September 15

*11:36am-Brownwood Police were called to the 1000 block of Lackey Street regarding a domestic disturbance.   According to the report, a verbal argument had occurred between two brothers-in-law who live with their spouses in the same residence.  An investigation determined that 23-year-old Daniel Mikeal Warlick raised a kitchen knife at his brother-in-law in a threatening manner, a police report states.   According to police, the other residents of the home sought refuge in another room of the home until officers arrived.  No injuries were reported; however, Warlick was arrested for Aggravated Assault Family Violence with a Deadly Weapon and is being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bond.

*12:33pm-Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 400 block of W. Austin for speeding.  After an investigation, the driver, identified as 34-year-old John Roseboom was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2A less than 2 ounces.

*1:14pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1300 block of 1st Street regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, the complainant stated that an ex-boyfriend slashed her right rear tire while her vehicle was parked at the Brownwood Reunion.  The complainant wished to pursue charges and estimated the replacement cost of the tire at $112.84.

*1:23pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 700 block of E. Baker Street regarding public intoxication.  According to police, three carnival employees reported to work intoxicated and were fired by their boss.  One of the employees, identified as Michael Anthony Jimenez of Yoakum, Texas, became angry and threw a rock which broke one of the windows on a carnival trailer, stated police.  According to Assistant Chief James Fuller, Jimenez began cussing his boss and said he would “come back and shoot him and burn the carnival down.”  Jimenez was arrested on several charges including criminal mischief, terroristic threat, public intoxication and failure to identify fugitive from justice.

*11:45pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 500 block of Baker Street regarding a juvenile problem.  According to the report, the Brownwood city marshal noticed several people standing around a vehicle.  When he approached them, he noticed a 17-year-old male who was holding a cigarette.   According to the report, the marshal reminded the juvenile that the legal smoking age was 18 and asked if his parents knew he smokes.  He said that they did not.  The marshal issued the juvenile a citation and informed him that one of his parents would have to appear with him in municipal court and that Texas has a zero tolerance policy for underage smoking and drinking, the report states.  The juvenile was also told that if he failed to appear in court, a warrant would be issued for his arrest because he was seventeen.

*6:25pm-Brownwood Police were working at the Brownwood Coliseum during Reunion weekend when he was told about a man being attacked in front of the coliseum.   According to the report, when the officer arrived at the location of the assault, there were several people standing around the 17-year-old victim.  A friend of the victim stated that she had come to the carnival with him and that her ex-boyfriend, Chason Franklin approached her and became angry that she was at the event with another guy, despite her stating that they were just friends, the report states.  Franklin was reported to have hit the victim in the head four times and then ran away according to the report.  While the victim was being treated, other people in the crowd stated, “there goes the man that attacked him.”  Officers began a foot chase that started in a nearby neighborhood, into a creek and ended in a neighborhood near the coliseum.  Franklin was arrested and charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury, Evading Arrest and for an outstanding warrant.  The victim received stitches over his left eye, but otherwise, his head was okay despite his history of having a previous traumatic brain injury, police said.

Sunday, September 16

*12:45am-Brownwood Police were called to a domestic disturbance in the 4000 block of 6th Street.  According to the report, dispatch advised the officer that a female caller stated that she was hit in the face by her ex’s girlfriend.  This call would result in a criminal trespass warning being issued to a female subject.

*2:56am-Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the area of 8th and Avenue C due to failure to signal and an obstructed license plate.  Upon investigation, it was determined that the driver, identified as 31-year-old Ricky James Delarosa was intoxicated.  The suspect was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.

*1:57pm-Brownwood Police responded to the 2300 block of Main Blvd. regarding a domestic disturbance.  This call led to the arrest of 22-year-old Johnathan Paul Oneal for Assault Family Violence Strangulation.

*2:52pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1600 block of Borden regarding an assault.    According to the report, the complainant stated that her sister had assaulted her.  The complainant’s sister was interviewed and upon further investigation it was determined that the complainant was the primary aggressor.  No arrests were made at the time of the report.

Monday, September 17

*Bangs Police arrested 23-year-old Aaron William Minor for Reckless Driving.
