Monday, September 15
*2:39 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 4200 block of US Hwy 377 South regarding an incident of consumption of alcohol by a minor. According to the report, the complainant wished to pursue charges against a subject who had made alcohol available to her teenage child.
*The Early Police Department received information regarding a vehicle which was possibly transporting narcotics to the Early area, according to Early Chief of Police David Mercer. Officers worked through the night attempting to locate the vehicle and Tuesday, September 15th, Officer Contreras stopped the vehicle on a traffic violation in the 900 block of Early Blvd., according to Mercer. The EPD K9 unit responded to the location, searched outside the car and alerted to drugs in the vehicle, said Mercer. Officers searched the vehicle and located approximately a half pound of hydroponic marijuana along with some cocaine, a quantity of Oxycodone, Xanax and hydrocodone in the vehicle, the report states. 40-year-old Kimberly Kay Delgado of Early was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana over 4 ounces under 5 lbs., two counts of possession of controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram, two counts of possession of controlled substance penalty group 3 less than 28 grams, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Delgado was being held at the Brown County Jail in lieu of bonds totaling $40,500 as of Wednesday morning.Tuesday, September 16
*11:10 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 100 block of S. Broadway regarding the theft of a motor vehicle. According to the report, a male subject stated that his vehicle had been stolen from a parking lot in downtown Brownwood. The complainant stated that he had left his keys in the vehicle for his girlfriend to use it to look for a job, the report states. He stated that at 11:00 a.m., he was notified by the Early Police that someone had stolen his vehicle and set it on fire, according to the report. The complainant did not know who would have stolen his vehicle. A possible suspect was named; however, no arrest had been made at the time of the report.
*11:34 AM – A Brownwood Police officer was flagged down in the 500 block of E. Commerce regarding a possible incident of domestic violence. According to the report, further investigation is pending.
*2:20 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the 1300 block of Avenue A regarding criminal trespass.
*7:53 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of W. Commerce regarding theft. According to the report, the manager of the business wished to file charges against two subjects that had left the business without paying.
*8:50 PM – An Early Police officer stopped a Ford pickup in the 100 block of Chaparral Drive for a traffic violation. According to the report, the driver was extremely nervous, his driver’s license was suspended and he had four previous convictions for driving while license suspended. The driver, identified as 25-year-old James Lee Kinsey of Brownwood, was arrested for the drivers license violation and upon subsequent inventory and search of his vehicle, officers located several small baggies containing methamphetamine in the floorboard of the vehicle along with paraphernalia and marijuana, the report states. Kinsey was charged with driving while license suspended and possession of controlled substance penalty group 1 in a drug free zone, which is a 3rd degree felony.
*11:52 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to a residence on 5th Street regarding an assault. During the call, a female claimed to have been assaulted by her daughter and the incident was documented, the report states.
*Early Police arrested 18-year-old Elijah Ray Jones of Brownwood on warrants related to failure to appear/interfere with public duties, failure to appear/resist arrest search or transport, and criminal trespass.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 29-year-old Kevin Salazar of Early for theft of property equal or greater than $20 less than $500 by check enhanced.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 24-year-old Jeffery Lee Schafer of Brookesmith for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram in a drug free zone, tamper/fabricate physical evidence, and possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces in a drug free zone.
*Texas Parks and Wildlife arrested 40-year-old Cheryl L. Spiers of Brownwood for no fishing license and on a warrant for failure to appear/no fishing license.
Wednesday, September 17
*2:10 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 900 block of W. Commerce regarding an assault. According to the report, the victim stated that she was assaulted by her ex-boyfriend but that she did not wish to pursue charges.
*2:10 AM – Brownwood Police made a pedestrian stop in the 900 block of Center Avenue. This stop led to the arrest of 29-year-old Donald Gene Gilbert of Brownwood for two outstanding BSCO warrants.
