Law enforcement arrests and reports released Tuesday and Wednesday, September 13 & 14, 2011.

Monday, September 12

*11:23am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1300 block of Austin Avenue, regarding found property.  The manager reported arriving to the store to find a black fax machine on the ground outside next to the entrance doors.  According to the report, employees were questioned about the fax and the manager determined that it must have been left overnight.  An attempt to locate the owner of the fax machine was unsuccessful, the report states.  The fax machine was placed into the Brownwood Police Department evidence room for safe keeping.

*2:40pm-Brownwood Police were called to 401 W. Commerce regarding a female who had been detained for shoplifting.  According to the report, a 22-year-old female, identified as Lauren Stacey Kersey, walked past the point of sale in the store with $54.97 in unpaid merchandise.  Kersey was arrested and charged with Theft Greater than $50 Less than $500.

*7:54pm-Brownwood police were called to the 1800 block of Avenue D regarding a domestic disturbance.  According to the report, the complainant stated her ex-common law husband assaulted her.

Tuesday, September 13

*4:45am-Brownwood Police responded to the 2600 block of Crockett Drive, Brownwood Regional Medical Center emergency room, in reference to an assault call.  According to the report, the victim advised him that she was assaulted by her live-in boyfriend after they were in an argument.  Injuries were observed and photographed, the report states.  The investigation is continuing.

*6:06am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2000 block of 8th Street regarding a vehicle that had been vandalized at the Wayside Apartments (2001 Brady Avenue).  According to the report, the complainant estimated the value of the damage to the vehicle to be approximately $300.  No suspect information was available at the time of the report.

*8:28am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2300 block of West Main Avenue, Thornhill Trucking, in reference to theft of copper wire from a company vehicle.  The estimated value of the wire is $875, the report states.  A suspect has been named; however no arrest has been made, according to police.

*10:43am-Brownwood Police received a phone call reporting 20 Aderol pills missing from the complainant’s residence since September 7th.  A possible suspect was named by the complainant; however no arrest had been made at the time of the report.

*1:58pm-A woman came to the Law Enforcement Center to meet with a Brownwood Police officer regarding prescription medications she had found on W. Commerce.   49 Tramadol pills were turned in and processed into found property to be destroyed.

*7:36pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 200 block of West Commerce regarding medication being obtained fraudulently.  The reporting party stated that a male had come to the store and obtained Hydrocodone that was prescribed to a deceased subject.  The calling party was advised not to allow the suspect to pick up any more of the medication prescribed to the deceased subject.  The investigation continues.

*8:26pm-A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was called to a residence on County Road 233 regarding a burglary call.  The complainant advised that two green army surplus tool boxes with tools inside of them were stolen from his property during the day while he was out of town.  The complainant estimated the value of the stolen tool boxes and tools to be $75.  No suspect information was available at the time of the report.

Wednesday, September 14

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 24-year-old Daniel Lee Mendieta for Possession of a Dangerous Drug.

All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
