Law Enforcement arrests and reports released Monday, September 13, 2010
Friday, September 10
*2:28pm-Brownwood Police arrested 28-year-old Amy Holland in the 1300 block of Brady Avenue in reference to an outstanding warrant. In addition to the warrant service, Holland was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and also charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Grade 3, <28g according to the report.
*5:30pm-A Brownwood Police Officer was at a local grocery store in the 1400 block of Austin Avenue when he noticed the manager in the office with a woman. According to the report, the officer checked with the manager and was told that the woman had attempted to steal a maroon shirt with the word “Lions” on it. The officer asked the woman why the manager was having to speak with her, to which she stated that it was because her daughter wanted a t-shirt for the football game that night the report states. The woman further stated that she knew she could not write a check for the shirt because it would bounce according to Brownwood Police. The woman was subsequently issued a criminal trespass warning, cited for theft less than or equal to $50, and told to appear in court on 9/13.
*8:15pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of Vincent regarding an unwanted person. According to the report, the caller stated that a man was outside her residence and she did not want him there. When officers arrived, they noted a man, later identified as 47-year-old Victor Glen Ray of Blanket, on the sidewalk of the residence and that he was intoxicated the report states. Police said that he was a danger to himself and others, and was subsequently arrested for Public Intoxication.
51-year-old Dellman Wesley Ball was arrested when he turned himself in on an outstanding warrant and was found to be in possession of marijuana, less than 2oz, which was also added to his charges.
*Brownwood Police arrested 26-year-old Melvin Lee Lewis for Abandon/Endanger Child Criminal Negligence.
* Department of Public Safety arrested 29-year-old Rollie Galvan Lopez for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Grade 1, less than 1g and Possession of Marijuana, less than 2 oz.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of Assault Causing Bodily Injury which occurred in the 1600 block of CR 234. The complainant stated to BCSO that a man he was working for had assaulted him while working on the roof of a house. According to the report, the man was cussing him and threw a paint roller at the complainant, leaving paint on his shirt along with paint and blood on his face. The man then allegedly struck the complainant with a closed fist according to the report. The man then grabbed the complainant causing them both to fall to the roof according to BCSO reports. The complainant eventually pushed the man off of him, climbed off of the roof and left the job site. He returned to his own home where he called BCSO to report the incident.
Saturday, September 11
* Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 43-year-old Joanne Carrier of Early for Driving While Intoxicated.
*1:11am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1800 block of Avenue D in reference to criminal mischief. A beer can was thrown from one vehicle which struck another. No visible damage was found on the victim’s vehicle.
*1:34am-Brownwood Police were called to the 2000 block of Austin Avenue, Coggin Park, in reference to a fight involving weapons. After investigating, it was determined that a male subject was injured after being struck with a glass bottle the report states. The suspect has been identified and an active investigation is being pursed regarding the incident. According to Assistant Chief James Fuller, several Howard Payne Students were involved in the fight, beating each other, and the injured male was found to be unconscious after being struck and was taken to the hospital for stitches.
*9:00am-Brownwood Police were called to the 600 block of Sharp regarding a report of theft greater or equal to $50 and less than $500.
*11:57pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2300 block of Main Blvd. in reference to an assault. According to the report, the complaint explained that someone began punching her boyfriend and that she tried to break up the fight and was pushed away. The suspect then fled the scene prior to officers arriving on the scene the report states.
Sunday, September 12
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 47-year-old Darrel Mark Butler for Driving While Intoxicated.
* Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 18-year-old Jose Barrientos-Rocha of Mexico on a Border Patrol Detainer.
* Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 28-year-old Ricardo Banda Castillo of San Antonio for Driving While Intoxicated.
*12:38am-A Brownwood Police officer conducted a traffic stop in the 2000 block of 1st Street which led to the arrest of one of the subjects, identified as 19-year-old Joshua Keith Lyon for Possession of Marijuana, less than 2 oz. in a Drug Free Zone.
*8:51am-A Brownwood Police officer met with a complainant at the BPD regarding a wallet that was stolen on September 11 around 8:30pm at Wal-Mart. At the time of the report, there were no suspects.
*2:45pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 4400 block of 4th Street regarding found property. The resident stated that he was mowing his pasture when he found two bicycles lying in the trees abandoned.
*7:50pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of Booker in reference to a terroristic threat. After speaking with the calling party, it was apparent that a threat had been made regarding a female burning down the caller’s residence the report states. An active report was filed.
*7:51pm-A Brownwood Police officer conducted a traffic stop in the 2600 block of Asbury. The stop resulted in the arrest of the driver, identified as 25-year-old Francisco Diaz, Jr. for Driving While License Invalid/Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.
* Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 22-year-old Aaron Martin for Driving While Intoxicated.
* Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 55-year-old Darwin Kelly Scott of Early for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Grade 1, less than 1 g and Possession of Marijuana, less than 2 oz.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to the 300 block of CR 143 in Bangs regarding an intoxicated woman who would not leave the complainant’s residence. According to the report the caller identified the woman as, Melissa Porter who was arrested for Public Intoxication.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the 8000 block of CR 602 in reference to an attempted burglary. According to the report the owners of the property had found that a window had been forced open. Nothing was found to be missing from the residence, moved or broken. No suspects were identified by either party and there were no arrests at the time of the report.
Monday, September 13
*1:43am-Brownwood Police responded to the 400 block of W. Commerce at a local store regarding a suspicious person. According to the report, communications reported that a male subject was telling customers that he stole items from the store. Officers arrived and identified the male as 22-year-old Emmanuel James McCloud who was found to have a Criminal Trespass Warning for the address according to the report. Further investigation found that McCloud had, in fact, stolen a pair of shoes while in the store the report states. Subsequently, McCloud was arrested for Criminal Trespass and Theft of Property less than $50 with previous conviction(s).
All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
