Monday, September 9

*10:38 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1300 block of Magnolia regarding a physical domestic disturbance.  After an investigation, 24-year-old Christopher Benavides was arrested for assault family violence by way of strangulation.

*6:02 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1400 block of Austin Avenue, Brookshire’s grocery, regarding theft.  According to the report, the store manager advised that the suspect attempted to leave the store without paying for merchandise.  The subject, identified as 43-year-old William Scott McCaslin, had an active criminal trespass warning for the property, the report states.  He was issued a citation for theft less than $50 and arrested for criminal trespass.

*Taylor County Sheriff’s Office arrested 32-year-old Roberto Alcantar, Jr. of Abilene on a Brown County warrant  for failure to appear/driving while license  with previous convictions.

*Brownwood Police arrested 48-year-old Christopher Allen Bates of Early for theft of property by check $20-$500.

*30-year-old Michael Lee McAnn turned himself in on a warrant related to failure to appear/no driver’s license 3rd or more.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 36-year-old Jose Ochoa Pesina of Comanche on an indictment for motion to revoke/three counts driving while intoxicated with child passenger.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 60-year-old Monty Jack Reid on an indictment related to exploitation of child/elderly/disabled and two counts of misapplication of identification property.

*Brownwood Police arrested 31-year-old Janetta Consuela Rivers on two warrants related to no seat belt – driver.

*17-year-old Travler John Roberson of Menard turned himself in on an indictment related to criminal mischief equal or greater than $1500 less than $20,000.

Tuesday, September 10

* 1:07 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2500 block of Avenue C regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the windshield of his vehicle was busted out by 58-year-old Michael Cooley and he wished to pursue charges.    Cooley was located and admitted to “busting” the complainant’s windshield out, the report states.  After the investigation, Cooley was arrested for criminal mischief equal or greater than $50 less than $500.

*Early Police arrested 48-year-old Joseph Wayne Hudson of Early for driving while license invalid.
