Monday, August 5

*3:11 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center regarding an assault.  During an investigation a juvenile alleged she had been assaulted by her mother.
Tuesday, August 6

*7:30 AM – A Brownwood Police officer attempted to make a traffic stop in the 1200 block of Bailey Street; however, the driver fled the scene.  During an investigation, the driver was identified and the incident was documented.
*11:16 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 3700 block of 2nd Street regarding theft.  According to the report, while the complainant was out of town, some of her jewelry was stolen.  After confronting subjects who had been taking care of her animals in her absence, a juvenile female confessed to taking the jewelry, the report states.  The stolen items were returned to the complainant, according to the report.

*11:37 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 500 block of E. Commerce Street, Budget Inn, regarding an intoxicated person.  According to the report, officers arrived and found a male subject inside the business who had an active criminal trespass warning for the location from a previous incident.  The male, identified as 63-year-old Robert Danner of Cross Plains, was arrested and charged with criminal trespass.

*3:15 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1700 block of Good Shepherd Drive regarding cruelty to animals.  According to the report, the complainant reported that the tenant of the apartment had abandoned a cat, dog and possibly a hamster.  The cat and dog were taken to the animal shelter and the incident is pending further investigation, the report states.

*11:07 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1800 block of 8th Street at 8:57 PM regarding a suspicious person.  According to the report, officers were called back to the same location regarding the suspect again at about 10:30 PM.  As a result of the investigation, 19-year-old Dustin Scott Atkins was arrested for public intoxication, the report states.

*22-year-old Christopher Boykin turned himself in on a warrant related to assault.

*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 51-year-old Kim Michelle Cupps on a warrant related to driving while intoxicated.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 24-year-old Brittany Cherelle Hogan on a warrant related to assault causes bodily injury.

*Brownwood Police arrested 28-year-old Roger Ray Powers for theft of property equal or greater than $1500 less than $20,000.

*Texas Juvenile Justice Department arrested 18-year-old Charlotte N. Shiloh for assault on a public servant

*Brownwood Police arrested 17-year-old Kyle Matthew Vogel on warrants related to expired motor vehicle insurance and expired registration.

Wednesday, August 7

*3:14 AM – Brownwood Police made contact with a male subject in the 3200 block of Milam Drive and after a brief investigation, the subject was released at the scene.  Officers returned on a “hunch” and further investigated the area where the subject had been and found a small handbag that contained a crystal-like substance that appeared to be methamphetamine.  Officers were unable to locate the subject at the time of the report; however the crystal-like substance was taken to the Law Enforcement Center for further testing.
