Law enforcement arrests and reports released August 4, 2011.
Tuesday, August 2
*3:22pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of W. Commerce regarding theft. The manager of the Sherman William’s store reported that a Pro Shot airless compressor had been stolen or misplaced, according to the report. The sprayer is valued at $699.
Wednesday, August 3
*8:57am-Brownwood Police were called to the 1300 block of 3rd Street regarding found property. The reporting party had found a boys bicycle which was placed into the Brownwood Police Department impound for safekeeping until the owner can properly identify and claim it.
*12:23pm-A Brownwood Police officer was parked in a business parking lot observing traffic facing the 1900 block of S US Hwy 377 when he observed a vehicle travelling “way over the 40 mile speed limit,” according the officer’s report. The officer reported that the vehicle crossed into the middle lane where traffic is forbidden due to the lane ending leading to the middle median of a concrete bridge. The report states that the driver aggressively swerved, barely missing the concrete median by what appeared to be a couple of feet. The officer initiated a traffic stop which led to the arrest of 51-year-old Mary Helen Herrera for Driving While Intoxicated with Child Passenger.
*5:46pm-Brownwood Police responded to a restaurant in the 500 block of E. Commerce regarding the burglary of a vehicle. According to the report, items stolen from the vehicle included two wallets, identifying information, and a credit card.
10:17pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2200 block of Vine Street regarding a residential burglary. The complainant returned home to find the front door of the home kicked in and several items missing, the report states. There were no arrests at the time of the report; however, the investigation is ongoing and charges will be pursued if a suspect can be identified.
All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
