Wednesday, August 29
*11:15am – Brownwood Police were notified that a juvenile believed to be a Brownwood High School student had “tweeted” a message that stated “I hope there’s a shooting at the Brownwood HS today,” according to a police report.
The police report states that the officer observed the Twitter post that originated from a female student at the school.
Investigation by police determined that no offense occurred, but two students had violated school district policy to promote/incite behavior that would threaten school safety. Both students were placed in Disciplinary Alternative Education Program for 30 days, according to the police report.
*2:46pm – Brownwood Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle theft in the 1400 block of Avenue A.
Thursday, August 30
*1:00pm – Brownwood Police responded to the 2600 block of W. Main Blvd. regarding a domestic disturbance. The report states that the suspect assaulted his common law wife and resisted arrest. 37-year-old James Thomas Barnum was arrested for Assault Causes Bodily Injury Family Violence and Resist Arrest, Search, or Transport.
*1:31pm – Brownwood Police received a report of possible forgery. A woman reported that someone wrote over $400 in checks to Wal-Mart on the complainant’s checking account.
*2:27pm – Brownwood Police responded to a report of a reckless driver in the area of Austin Avenue and Magnolia. According to the report, Brownwood Police located the suspect vehicle and arrested 54-year-old Denise Marshall of Brownwood for DWI.
*6:53pm – Brownwood Police responded to a report of criminal trespass in the 3800 block of 2nd Street.
*10:07pm – Brownwood Police responded to an apartment on Avenue E where the complainant reported that someone cut out a window of the residence.
*11:03pm – Brownwood Police responded to a possible stolen vehicle in the 2300 block of Main St. The complainant reported that a pickup truck was missing from the driveway.
*11:42pm – Brownwood Police arrested 22-year-old Alexander Villarreal of Brownwood for failure to identify fugitive intentionally giving false information. The police report states that the suspect gave the officer a false name and date of birth during a traffic stop. Villarreal was also arrested on two outstanding warrants.
Friday, August 31
*2:55am – Brownwood Police arrested 22-year-old Eddie Hernandez of Brownwood for public intoxication. Police reports state that an officer saw Hernandez and another man standing in the roadway on Coggin Ave.
*2:56am – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop on a vehicle stopped in the middle of the roadway in the 1500 block of Main St. 30-year-old Gladys Margarita Calvill Aleman of Brownwood was arrested as a result of the stop for DWI 3rd or more, according to police reports.
