Law Enforcement arrests and reports released Monday, August 30, 2010.
Wednesday, August 25
*A Brownwood Police officer was approached while on duty at Brownwood High School regarding an iPhone that had been stolen last year. According to the report, information was obtained and the investigation started with a suspect being named and the iPhone being returned. Investigation is ongoing to determine if there are additional suspect in the theft.
Friday, August 27
*Brownwood Police arrested 22-year-old Keshia Marie Camp Slate for Resisting Arrest and CPF/Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.
*At 8:43pm, Brownwood Police were called to the 3300 block of N US 183 regarding an assault. After an investigation, it was determined a male subject has been assaulted during an altercation on N US 183 the report states. No arrest had been made at the time of the report.
*At 11:23pm, Brownwood Police conducted a stop in the 500 block of 7th Street which resulted in the driver being issued a citation for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Saturday, August 28
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 21-year-old John Matthew Allen for Public Intoxication.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 32-year-old Charles Christopher Newton for Public Intoxication.
* Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 39-year-old Ruth Marie Pannell for Driving While Intoxicated/Open Alcohol Container.
* Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 48-year-old Judd Franklin Stewardson of Santa Anna for Driving While Intoxicated and Evading Arrest with Vehicle. Law enforcement officials stated that Stewardson was driving his son, who had been involved in a rollover motor vehicle accident, to the hospital at a high rate of speed when he was stopped by the DPS Trooper. After being told that he could proceed on, Stewardson then continued to drive erratically at an extremely excessive speed according to police dispatch. The trooper then determined he would stop the vehicle and call an ambulance to drive the Stewardson’s son to the hospital; however, he would not stop. Two Brownwood Police officers assisted in attempting to stop Stewardson. The pursuit ended at the hospital after Stewardson was able to get his son medical attention. It was then determined that Stewardson was intoxicated and he was subsequently arrested.
*At 12:05pm, Brownwood Police responded to a call of Harassment by text in the 1100 block of San Benito.
*At 1:03pm, a Brownwood Police officer initiated a traffic stop for defective equipment when the driver was at the stop sign at the intersection of 3rd and Avenue K according to the report. The driver, identified as 46-year-old David Scott Lindsay was arrested for Driving While License Invalid with Previous Conviction.
*At 3:04pm, Brownwood Police officer was dispatched to the 1500 block of Avenue B regarding a theft of a bicycle.
*At 6:12pm, Brownwood Police Department received information from an off duty officer that a possible drug transaction was made involving a male in a vehicle at the 1400 block of Austin Avenue. According to the report, the vehicle was stopped and marijuana was discovered. Both occupants of the vehicle, identified as 23-year-old Zachery CJ Cadena and 22-year-old Stephanie Colleen Horne, were arrested for Possession of Marijuana, less than or equal to 2 oz. in a drug free zone and transported to the Brown County Jail.
Sunday, August 29
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 17-year-old Kahli Chelyn Ontiveros for Evading Arrest with Vehicle.
*At 1:34am, a Brownwood Police officer initiated a traffic stop in the 700 block of Parkway for a defective license plate lamp. It was determined that the driver, identified as 29-year-old Jon Aaron White had a suspended driver’s license and was subsequently arrested for Driving While License Invalid with Previous Convictions the report states.
*At 7:40am, Brownwood Police responded to the 1000 block of Avenue I regarding a report of a burglary of a vehicle.
*At 12:03pm, Brownwood Police received a report of a theft of a bicycle in the 1500 block of Terrace.
*AT 6:07pm, Brownwood Police were called to the 3600 block of 3rd Street regarding and unwanted person. The male suspect had fled the scene before officers arrived. According to the report, a female complainant explained her boyfriend of four years had assaulted her Friday, August 27th. A suspect has been named; however, no arrest had been made at the time of the report.
*At 6:21pm, Brownwood Police were called to the 1600 block of Belle Plain regarding an unwanted person. The suspect was issued a Criminal Trespass Warning and removed from the property.
*At 8:00pm, Brownwood Police were called to the 1000 block of Cordell Street regarding an unwanted person. The suspect was not on scene at the time but returned a short time later returned and then left the residence on foot according to the report. The suspect, identified as 21-year-old Ricardo Javier Espin Gutierrez, was located and then arrested for an immigration detainer with the US Border patrol.
All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
