Law Enforcement reports and arrests released Wednesday, August 03, 2011.

Monday, August 1

*9:25am-Brownwood Police were called to the 2000 block of Vincent Street regarding theft.  According to the report, a katana sword was stolen, valued at approximately $101.  A suspect has been named and the investigation is ongoing.

*2:43pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1700 block of Avenue B where a woman’s bicycle had been found.  The bicycle was placed into the Brownwood Police Department (BPD) impound for safe keeping until the owner can properly identify and claim it.

Tuesday, August 2

*8:20pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 400 block of 4th Street regarding theft.  The complainant stated that her boyfriend had stolen $100 from her purse sometime during the night, the report states.

*8:24pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1700 block of 4th Street regarding theft.  The complainant stated that her son’s BMX bicycle had been stolen between the hours of 9:30-10:15pm.

*8:58pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to 401 W. Commerce regarding theft.  According to the report, a woman was observed concealing store merchandise that had not been paid for inside her diaper bag.  The items included two shirts, two pair of shorts, and a bottle of Tums and were valued at $39.68.  A trespass warning was issued to the suspect.

*10:18pm-Brownwood Police responded to the burglary of a vehicle in the 600 block of Carnegie.  A complainant stated that she discovered the front window of her vehicle broken and that a purse had been stolen.  The purse contained the complainant’s identifying information, credit cards and $30 in cash, the report states.  There was no suspect information at the time of the report.  The complainant did wish to pursue charges if a suspect could be identified.

*10:54pm-Brownwood Police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 800 block of Penn Street.  According to police, the complainant stated that her husband had assaulted her and left prior to the officer’s arrival.  The complainant had minor injuries to her right hand police indicate.  The male half of the disturbance did make contact with police and was interviewed.  He was found to have minor injuries to his face and the back of his head along with a bite mark on his right shoulder, the report states.  Neither party wished to pursue charges against each other for the assault; however the State of Texas will be pursuing charges against both parties, according to the report.

*9:59pm- Brownwood Police were called to the 1300 block of Avenue I regarding found property.  According to the police, the reporting party had found an iPod which was turned in to Brownwood Police to be placed into the evidence room for safe keeping until its proper owner can identify and claim it.

All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
