Thursday, August 23

10:06pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1200 block of 1st Street regarding a city code violation.  According to the report, a neighbor was suspected of shooting off fireworks.

Monday, August 27

*5:18pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1400 block of Coggin Avenue regarding lost property.  According to the report, the complainant stated that she lost her cell phone “somewhere between Brownwood City Hall and her residence.”

Tuesday, August 28

*7:26am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the area of 11th Street and Avenue K regarding a hit and run.  According to the report, the victim stated that a black regular cab pickup ran the stop sign at the intersection of 10th and Avenue K and struck her vehicle.  The pickup then drove away from the crash scene without giving information or rendering aid, the report states.  The complainant did wish to pursue criminal charges if a suspect can be identified.

*6:13pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1200 block of Coggin Avenue regarding reckless damage or destruction.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the back fender of the driver’s side of his vehicle was damaged, which was estimated at $300 to repair.

*9:52pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1200 block of Avenue D regarding an assault.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 28-year-old Nina Ballejo for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 less than 1 gram in a Drug Free Zone
