*Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3400 block of Golding Road regarding a juvenile receiving unwanted messages via a social media application.

Monday, August 25

*6:13 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to the Sportsman Center on Belle Plain Street in Brownwood regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, the manager of the store stated that someone had attempted to break into the storeroom and had damaged a steel door, which will cost approximately $1200 to replace.

Wednesday, August 27

*7:24 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to the Precinct 2 barn on FM 1689 in May, regarding theft of property.  According to the report, an unknown suspect had cut the lock off the gate of the property and had stolen a sprayer system which was mounted in a county owned truck, a 5 pound extinguisher and approximately 300 gallons of “clear” diesel fuel.

*12:30 PM – Brown County Sheriff’s investigators and deputies executed three search warrants on residences in the 1100 block of Magnolia Street, including a home and two garage apartments.  According to BCSO Captain Tony Aaron, information had been received that 44-year-old David Robles Ortega, Jr. and several other subjects were distributing methamphetamine from the property.  Aaron stated that BCSO investigators did not have this information during Operation Tangled Web, a recent drug roundup in Brown County.  Approximately 20 officers were involved in the execution of the warrants and found two used methamphetamine pipes in a dresser drawer along with drug paraphernalia and distribution materials such as scales and packaging inside Ortega’s home, Aaron reported.  Ortega admitted selling approximately 0.5 gram to someone on Monday, Aaron said.  Three people were released from the scene which BCSO did not have active cases involving; however, investigators will continue to search for a couple of other suspects and more arrests are expected in relation to the case, according to Aaron.  Ortega’s home is located near East Elementary and he was subsequently charged with possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram in a drug free zone.

*10:55 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s Sergeant made a traffic stop on a vehicle for a speeding violation in the area of Hwy 183 South.  According to the report, during the stop, the sergeant noticed a marijuana shake on the center console of the vehicle and a strong odor of marijuana.   The driver, identified as 24-year-old Ndifone Matthias Agbor of Coleman, surrendered two marijuana cigars that he had just rolled along with a small plastic baggie that contained marijuana, the report states.  Agbor also told the sergeant that he had more marijuana in the rear of the vehicle, according to the sergeant’s report; the total weight of the marijuana he possessed was 4 ounces, the report states.  He also had $1306 in the center console where some of the marijuana was found which was banded together, the report states.  The cash was seized due to the possibility of it being used in narcotics transactions, according to the sergeant.  Agbor was arrested for felony possession of marijuana greater than 4 ounces less than 5 pounds and on two warrants related to failure to remit tax and failure to appear.

*A Brown County Sheriff’s Investigator was working criminal interdiction in north Brownwood and had received previous information regarding two subjects possibly distributing methamphetamine in a silver car and that they could be found on Fort Worth Street.  According to the report, the investigator located the vehicle parked on the wrong side of the roadway and once the driver had pulled back onto the street, he committed two more traffic violations.  A traffic stop was made in the 1500 block of Main Blvd. and a consent search made of the vehicle, the report states.  A search of the driver’s person, identified as 25-year-old Christopher Cody McDonough, yielded two baggies containing methamphetamine.  The officer also found a baggie in the seat where the passenger, identified as 25-year-old Elizabeth Louise Willett, was seated.  Willett was also found to have a baggie of methamphetamine in her pants pocket, a glass meth pipe, a black plastic container, packaging and two baggies in her underwear, the report states.  Willett and McDonough, both of Brownwood, were arrested for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 equal or greater than 1 gram less than 4 grams in a drug free zone with intent to deliver (due to the location of the arrest being near Gladys Seward Park).  Another baggie of methamphetamine was recovered during an unclothed search as she was booked into the Brown County Jail.   Willett was additionally charged with tamper/fabricate physical evidence with intent to impair investigation.

*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop for littering after he observed a passenger in a vehicle toss a cigarette out of the window.  According to the report, the stop was made in the 6900 block of FM 2492 and the driver was identified as 35-year-old Jason Eric Mellor.  While the deputy was speaking with the occupants of the vehicle about littering, he observed nervous behavior from Mellor, who was then asked to exit the vehicle, the report states.  After gaining verbal consent to search his person, the deputy located brass knuckles, a prohibited weapon in Mellor’s back left pocket, the report states.  Believing that Mellor may be concealing additional prohibited weapons in the vehicle, a probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted which located a Walther P99 .40 caliber loaded handgun under the driver’s seat, according to the deputy’s report.  After receiving Mellor’s criminal history, it was found that he had been previously convicted of several felonies in California, the report states.  Mellor was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon (knuckles) and unlawful possession of a firearm by felon.

*26-year-old Cameron Allen Botts of Kingston turned himself in on a warrant related to motion to adjudicate/possession of marijuana greater than 4 ounces equal or less than 5 pounds.

Thursday, August 28

*1:46 AM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the area of 14th Street and Bonita Street for a traffic violation.  According to the report, this stop led to the arrest of 40-year-old Andrew Eugene Bradshaw II of Bangs for possession of a controlled substance.
