Wednesday, August 21
*9:45 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to County Road 619 and Avenue H in Blanket regarding cruelty to livestock. According to the report, an anonymous caller was concerned about a horse that was very thin and that possibly did not have water. The deputy located the horse and identified its owner, the report states. The horse was determined to have water and feed; however, it was very old and it has no upper teeth in its mouth, the report states. The deputy stated in his report that the call was unfounded.
Thursday, August 22
*10:55 AM – Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a report of animal cruelty at a location on County Road 270 in Zephyr. According to the report, the deputy located a small black mare pony standing by the fence with hooves that were severely overgrown to the point that she was having trouble walking. The mare had a limp when it walked, the report states.
*1:02 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was called to County Road 405 in May regarding disorderly conduct. According to the report, the complainant’s son had recently bought a vehicle from the suspect about two months ago. The suspect came to the residence to retrieve property left in the vehicle, had become upset, and began to curse and threaten the complainant, the report states. The suspect had left the residence prior to the deputy’s arrival.
*2:05 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched regarding the burglary of a habitation on County Road 603. According to the report, the complainant stated that someone had entered her residence without consent and taken property from the residence when she was in Ruidoso, New Mexico. Because of the items missing, the complainant was able to name a possible suspect, the report states.
Friday, August 23
*11:23 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was called to County Road 615 regarding the burglary of a motor vehicle. According to the report, it was not sure where the burglary occurred, at the complainant’s residence or at her work. The complainant stated that her wallet had been stolen from the vehicle between 1:30 p.m. on August 22nd and 10:45 a.m. on August 23rd, the report states. There was no forced entry and no suspect information was available at the time of the report.
*1:00 PM – A complainant brought a bicycle he had found on the boat ramp on County Road 569 to the Sheriff’s Office. The bicycle is white and a Frisco, Tony Hawk Huckjam Series, the report states.
Saturday, August 24
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy went to a location on Magnolia to follow up to some possible thefts in the area. According to the report, a female identified as Mary Byrd answered the door and during her conversation with the deputy, she admitted she had some marijuana in her apartment, and retrieved it for the deputy. She then gave him consent to search the apartment and more marijuana was found and she advised she had more marijuana and retrieved that for the deputy, the report states. The total amount of marijuana confiscated from the apartment totaled 4.3 grams, according to the deputy’s report. Byrd was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of the theft of an air compressor and ladder from a property on Healer Lane. According to the report, the offense was believed to have happened sometime between August 16th and August 19th.
Sunday, August 25
*10:00 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to County Road 592 regarding the burglary of two vehicles. According to the report, the first complainant stated that someone broke into her vehicle and stole $400. The offense was believed to have occurred between the hours of 7:00 p.m. on August 24th and 10:00 a.m. on August 25th, the report states. The second complainant stated that someone had broken into her vehicle and stole two digital cameras between the hours of 7:00 p.m. on August 24th and 10:00 a.m. on August 25th.
Monday, August 26
*6:12 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to Wal-Mart regarding theft. When the officer arrived, he found that the suspect had been detained by loss prevention employees. The recovered stolen property was photographed and released to Wal-Mart, the report states. The suspect, identified as 32-year-old Julie Ann Barrios, was arrested for theft equal or greater than $50 less than $500.
*6:25 PM – Brownwood Police received a report of theft. According to the report, the complainant stated that his son’s cell phone was stolen at Coggin Park on Sunday, August 18th.
*Brownwood Police arrested 21-year-old Gary Leo Allison for possession of drug paraphernalia.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 44-year-old Michael Doyle of Comanche for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram in a drug free zone, prohibited weapon, and on a warrant for failure to appear/traffic.
*50-year-old Steven Trevino Hernandez of Bangs turned himself in on a warrant related to a parole violation/unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
*39-year-old Louis Salazar turned himself in on a warrant for motion to adjudicate related to aggravated assault causes bodily injury.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 32-year-old James Bryan Schlegelmilch for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 equal or greater than 1 gram less than 4 grams and on a warrant for motion to revoke/driving while intoxicated blood alcohol content greater than 0.15.
*53-year-old Timothy Allen Walker of Blanket was arrested on a warrant related to motion to revoke/driving while intoxicated 3rd or more.
Tuesday, August 27
*Brown county Sheriff’s Office arrested 55-year-old Charles L. Nickerson of Abilene on a warrant related to failure to appear/possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram.
