Law enforcement arrests and reports released August 26, 2011.
Wednesday, August24
*4:38pm-Brownwood police were called to 1400 Austin Avenue, where a male was detained for shoplifting at a local grocery store. According to the report, the manager stated he did not wish to pursue charges for theft; however he did wish for a criminal trespass warning to be issued to the juvenile.
*Brownwood Police were dispatched to the Law Enforcement Center to meet a complainant regarding terroristic threat. The report states that a complainant stated that he had been receiving threats against his life from a subject. The complainant was in a previous altercation which resulted in the stabbing and hospitalization of the subject in May of this year, according to police reports.
*5:17pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Magnolia regarding the theft of two cell phones. A suspect was identified but no arrest was made at this time, the report states.
Thursday, August 25
*8:15am-Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of stray donkeys on August 19th. The complainant and his daughter attempted to locate the owner of the animals with no success. On August 24th, Brown County Sheriff’s Office arranged for a contract cowboy to transport the animals to the BCSO holding pens the morning of August 25th. These donkeys are described as a gray/white Jenny and a young Jack. The owner of the donkeys may claim them at the Brown County Sheriff’s Office, located in the Law Enforcement Center at 1050 W. Commerce in Brownwood.
*10:50am-Brownwood Police responded to the 2500 block of N. Main regarding the theft of medication. The complainant stated that medication that was mailed to him from the VA hospital in Temple had been stolen. According to the report, when he called the hospital to report the missing medications, employees there stated it had been delivered on August 15th as indicated by a tracking number. The complainant said that 180 10mg hydrocodone tablets had been stolen from his mailbox while he was undergoing chemotherapy. No suspect information was available at the time of the report.
*2:48pm-Brown County Sheriff’s Department received a report of burglary of a vehicle. The complainant stated that he hit a deer in his car on Hwy 45 near Richland Springs and had a local towing company pick up the car to transport it to a body shop in Abilene. At sometime between the time he left the car for the towing company and the time he picked it up on August 18th, several items had been stolen from inside the vehicle. Two DVD players, a Tom Tom GPS unit and approximately 80 DVDs were stolen. Estimated value of the items stolen was $2800 according to the owner.
*4:39pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 3500 block of Rhodes Road regarding an assault. The complainant stated she had been involved in a domestic disturbance the night before. According to the report, the complainant told officers at that time that nothing happened; however this date, she decided to pursue charges. She stated that the suspect struck her but that she couldn’t remember the sequence of events, the report states.
*6:28pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2200 block of Avenue D. The victim stated she arrived at her rent house to collect past due rent and to evict the tenants when she noticed an outside central heat and air unit had been stolen.
All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
