Law enforcement arrests and reports released August 25, 2011.

*9:46am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to 209 E. Commerce regarding a burglary of a vehicle. The complainant stated that she had arrived at the business parking lot and left the windows down and doors unlocked on the vehicle. She stated that she had left her purse in the front passenger seat and upon leaving the store; she noticed that someone had stolen her purse out of the vehicle. No suspect information was available at the time of the report.
*10:41am-Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of 3rd Street regarding a minor vehicle accident. After investigation of the accident, the officer found that one of the vehicle’s drivers, identified as 36-year-old Gidget Stewart, was operating a vehicle with a suspended license and had no proof of insurance. Stewart was arrested for Driving While License Invalid and Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.
*1:42pm-A Brownwood Police officer spoke with a complainant who stated that her “ex” forged her signature, filed a joint tax return form, and collected the money from the tax return. According to the report, the complainant hopes by filing forgery charges against the suspect that he will drop a pending civil case against the complainant.
*3:43pm-Brownwood Police met with a complainant who stated he was a victim of identity theft. According to the report, two TXU electric accounts were set up in the complainant’s name at two residences, one in the 300 block of Victoria and another in the 300 block of Bluffview. The balance on the statement for the two accounts is $576.45. The complainant stated that “at no time has he ever lived at either residence, nor has he set up any accounts for himself or for anyone else at the addresses,” the report states.
*4:17pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to 401 W. Commerce. The asset protection employee stated that he caught a known suspect stealing items from the business. The items stolen from the store were a blue tank top shirt and gray shorts, valued at $7.94. The suspect was issued a citation for theft under $50 and a Criminal Trespass Warning.
*7:19pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 2200 block of Avenue D, the Seventh Day Adventist Church, regarding burglary of a building. The reporting party stated that when he arrived at the Church at approximately 5:00pm, he noticed the back screen door open to a residence that the church owns and uses for storage. According to the report, items stolen from the property are a washer and dryer, a gas water heater, and metal clothing racks.
*7:23pm-Brownwood Police responded to the 2500 block of Durham Avenue in reference to found property. Upon arrival, the officer collected a purse and its contents. The items were placed into the Brownwood Police Department evidence room for safe keeping until the owner can identify and properly claim them.
*10:09pm-Brownwood Police were called to 401 W. Commerce regarding theft. The loss prevention employee stated that at approximately 7:35pm, he observed two females looking around nervously and he advised that they took several things from one department and walked to another department where they concealed the items in their purses, the report states. The females, identified as 17-year-old Maria Lopez and 18-year-old Melissa Palacios then passed all points of sale and never attempted to purchase the items, according to the report. Both Lopez and Palacios were arrested for Theft Equal or Greater than $50 and Less than $500.
*10:25pm-A Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy was called to a disturbance at a residence on Hwy 279. According to dispatch, the complainant had reported their neighbor, Michial Lee Williams, to have been beating and kicking on front and back doors of the residence. Upon arrival, the deputy saw Williams walking from the complainant’s residence. Williams showed signs of intoxication and smelled of alcohol, according to the report. As the deputy patted Williams down for weapons as a precaution, Williams became upset and uncooperative, the report states. When he asked Williams what was going on, he replied that nothing was going on and claimed to be the property manager for the owner of the residence. The deputy noticed that Williams also had blood on his hands, which he said came from trimming trees on the property two days before. The complainants stated that Williams came to their house asking for a ride into Brownwood and when they refused he became angry and stated that if they called the police he would come back when he was released from jail and “slit their throats.” Upon investigation, the doors were found to have indentations which appeared to be made from someone punching the door and blood which was consistent with what the complainants told the deputy, the report states.
Williams was arrested for Terroristic Threat and Public Intoxication. On the way to the jail, Williams denied that he had threatened anyone and during the transport to the jail became angry with the deputy and told the deputy he would show him a terroristic threat and to pull the patrol car over, the report states. He also stated that he was going to go back to his neighbor’s residence when he got out and show them also. The deputy told Williams not to go back to the neighbor’s property or it would be considered retaliation; however Williams continued to make threats. Entering the jail, Williams was reported to have turned to the deputy aggressively and continued to threaten the deputy.
All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
