Wednesday, August 17
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy received a report of the burglary of a habitation in the Oak Point subdivision at Lake Brownwood.
Thursday, August 18
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy received a report of forgery against an elderly person. According to the report, the elderly victim stated that she was being billed by a collection agency for a Time Warner Cable account that she did not open.
Friday, August 19
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy met with a complainant regarding a known suspect dumping household trash without authorization. An investigation is ongoing, the report states.
Monday, August 22
*2:26 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 400 block of W. Commerce regarding credit/debit card abuse. According to the report, the complainant’s debit card number had been used to make an unauthorized purchase.*6:02 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1800 block of Houston Street regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, obscene drawings of male body parts were spray painted on each basketball goal located on the tennis court and on the court itself. The parks department was contacted so they could remove the damage, the report states. There were no known suspects at the time of the report.
*9:22 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a property on Blarney Drive regarding the burglary of a building. The complainant stated that someone had entered his storage room without his consent and had taken a push mower.
*Early Police officers arrested 30-year-old Alva Duane Sikes of Brownwood for a warrant stemming from a family violence incident that occurred around August 13th. According to the report, on this date, Sikes had grabbed a female relative by the throat and squeezed until she could not breathe while yelling that he was going to kill her. Sikes also had an outstanding parole violation warrant for his arrest. An investigation ongoing into the family violence incident.
*A Texas Parks and Wildlife Department game warden arrested 21-year-old Forrist Lee Pierce of Brownwood for no driver’s license and on warrants related to possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 equal or greater than 1 gram and less than 4 grams and violate promise to appear.
*46-year-old Aaron Ray Pippin of Brownwood turned himself in on a warrant related to motion to revoke/theft of property equal or greater than $50 less than $500.
Tuesday, August 23
*2:59 AM – Brownwood Police were called to Brownwood Regional Medical Center regarding a welfare check on a male subject outside of the hospital. According to the report, this call led to the arrest of a male subject, identified as 48-year-old Dennis Vess of Azle, Texas, for public intoxication.
*3:30 AM – An Early Police officer responded to an apartment complex in the 1000 block of Early Blvd. regarding a reported family disturbance. According to the report, as officers arrived, they were met by a subject, identified as 25-year-old Nathan Perez, who stated he and his girlfriend lived in the apartment. Officers asked Perez who his girlfriend was and Perez stated he couldn’t remember her name, but that everything was okay and that the officers could leave, the report states. Officers insisted on speaking with the girlfriend but Perez refused to allow officers to speak with her and appeared to be attempting to block the access to the bedroom, the report states. Perez was then taken into custody for interference with public duties. According to police, officers then entered the bedroom and did not locate the female. After further investigation the victim was located in a nearby apartment, the report states. The victim had bruising and abrasions on her neck and arms and stated that Perez had put his hands on her throat, putting pressure on her where she could not breathe, the report states. Perez was arrested and taken to the Brown County Jail on charges of assault family violence/strangulation and interference with public duties.
*Early Police arrested 56-year-old Ronald Curry of Early for public intoxication.
