Wednesday, August 20

*1:04 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1400 block of Austin Avenue regarding theft.  According to the report, the store manager advised that a known suspect stole some alcoholic beverages from the store.  After being caught in the act, the subject was escorted to the store’s office, the report states.  Officers arrived and the subject was cited for theft, issued a criminal trespass warning for the premises and released, according to police.  The stolen merchandise was returned to the store.

*4:09 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2600 block of Vincent Street regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that several items were stolen from outside of his home.

Thursday, August 21

*6:54 AM – Brownwood Police responded to the 1400 block of Austin Avenue regarding a hit and run accident.  The complainant reported that an unknown suspect had backed into his vehicle and fled the scene without leaving the necessary required information, according to the report.

*12:24 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2300 block of Dartmore Street regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, the windshield of the complainant’s vehicle had been “smashed” by an unknown subject.

*3:07 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 300 block of E. Commerce regarding theft.  According to the report, a male subject had stolen several packages of Beggin’ Strips dog treats and a 12-pack of Coca-Cola.

*3:40 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 500 block of 7th Street regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that a friend had found a piece of jewelry of hers and was refusing to return it.  The complainant wished to pursue charges for the theft, the report states.

*4:20 PM –Brownwood Police were dispatched to a resident on Hwy 183 regarding an assault.  According t the report, the female complainant stated that she had gone to the residence of her children’s father to talk with him about a Child Protective Service complaint.  She advised that the children’s father’s girlfriend started running toward her and struck her with her fist on the right side of her face.  The complainant wished to pursue charges for the assault.

*6:31 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the area of 9th Street and Avenue E regarding a suspicious call.  According to the report, a black Cadillac had its airbags deployed at this location and a male driver was present.  This call led to the arrest of 23-year-old Marco Antonio Castillo of Brownwood for driving while intoxicated 2nd.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 27-year-old Jonathan Wesley Branscum of Bangs on warrants related to violate promise to appear, driving while license invalid and a surety withdrawal related to possession of a controlled substance.

*Bangs Police arrested 25-year-old Brynton Key of Lynnwood, Washington for possession of marijuana less than or equal to 2 ounces in a drug free zone.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 22-year-old Christopher Noel Rendon of Brownwood on a warrant related to motion to revoke/driving while intoxicated/blood alcohol content equal or greater than 0.15.

Friday, August 22

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 23-year-old Justin C. Barnhill of Richland Springs on warrants related to engage in organized criminal activity, theft of property equal or greater than $20 less than $500, theft or property greater than $1500 less than $20,000 and surety withdrawals related to possession of a controlled substance penalty group 3 less than 28 grams in a drug free zone, and possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram in a drug free zone.  Barnhill was being held in lieu of bonds totaling $58,500 as of Friday morning.

*41-year-old Robert Arthur Kent was arrested for failure to register as a sex offender with previous conviction.  Kent was being held in lieu of $20,000 bond as of Friday morning.
