*8:32am-Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of Market Place Drive regarding found property.  According to the report, an abandoned bicycle was found at the location.  The bicycle was determined not to be stolen and was taken to Brownwood Police Department for safekeeping until the owner can properly identify and claim the bicycle.

*1:09pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1600 block of Oakland Drive regarding identity theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her mother-in-law used her personal information to open a JC Penney credit account, telling the complainant that she opened it “just in case she needed something.”  The complainant never gave the suspect permission to open the account in her name and did not know how her personal information was obtained, the report states.  The complainant wishes to pursue criminal charges according to police.

*1:49pm-Brownwood Police responded to a juvenile problem in the 600 block of Maple Street.  According to the report, a 14-year-old female was “out of control,” threatening her mother with a butcher knife and throwing items around the residence.  The juvenile was arrested, charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and transported to the Juvenile Detention Center.

*2:37pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of Fisk Avenue regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the day before, between the hours of 8:00am and 8:00pm, a known suspect kicked the bumper of his car causing a circular dent approximately 3 inches in diameter on the left side of the license plate.  The complainant wished to pursue criminal charges, the report states.

*3:21pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 900 block of Trigg Street regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that on August 7th, his brother-in-law had taken his cell phone valued at $300 from his residence.  He did not know where his cell phone went until he found the brother-in-law’s cell phone with his own sim card inside it, the report states.

*4:15pm-Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the area of 4th Street and Magnolia.  During the stop, the driver was issued citations for no seatbelt and an open container of alcohol in the vehicle.  The passenger was also issued a citation for having an open container of alcohol in the vehicle.

*4:21pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1100 block of Irma regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that a known subject stole a hunting knife from the residence.

*5:09pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3300 block of Stephen F. Austin regarding terroristic threat.  According to the report, a female stated that she was receiving threats from her ex-boyfriend.

*9:20pm-A Brown County deputy was called to the Brown County Jail in reference to an assault.  According to the report, a 28-year-old inmate was assaulted by a 17-year-old inmate after he made a comment about the way the younger inmate was eating his food.  17-year-old hit the 28-year-old with a closed fist knocking him to the ground and allegedly continued to strike the 28-year-old until the two were separated.  The older inmate suffered a large amount of swelling on the left side of his face, a laceration that required stitches under his left eye, a “busted” lip and a broken and swollen nose according to the report.  The younger inmate faces a charge of Aggravated Assault Causing Serious Bodily Injury according to BCSO reports.  The inmate who was assaulted was transported to Brownwood Regional Medical Center where he was treated for his injuries.
