Thursday, August 15

*1:00 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the 2500 block of Coggin Avenue regarding the burglary of a habitation.  According to the report, the complainant stated that someone came into the residence and took several items.  A possible suspect was named, the report states.  Later the complainant called Brownwood Police Department and reported that she had found her jewelry box with the jewelry in it, according to the report.

Tuesday, August 20

*12:10 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2200 block of Vincent Street regarding the burglary of a vehicle.  According to the report, the incident happened in the overnight hours of August 19 and the morning of August 20.

*12:43 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2200 block of Main Blvd. regarding the theft of several tools.  According to the report, the complainant named a possible suspect.

*1:22 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1600 block of Avenue A regarding the theft of property.  According to the report, the complainant advised that someone had stolen his window unit air conditioner from off of his front porch.

*2:48 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1900 block of 14th Street regarding the burglary of a vehicle.  According to the report, a vehicle was burglarized at the residence in the early morning hours of this day.  The incident is being investigated, the report states.

*5:15 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the area of 1st Street and Holcomb regarding a brown purse that was found lying in the yard of a residence.  The purse was collected and placed into the evidence room for safe keeping, the report states.

*8:03 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2700 block of Elizabeth Drive regarding theft.   According to the report, the complainant stated that numerous personal items had been stolen from a friend’s van sometime between August 11th and August 20th.  The complainant believes the theft occurred in the 2700 block of Elizabeth when the van was being borrowed by another friend, the report states.  When the van was returned, all of the complainant’s belongings were reported missing, according to the report.  Suspects were known to the complainant, the report states.

*8:11 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1200 block of Bailey Street regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, the complainant reported that someone known to him had damaged his vehicle by “keying” the driver’s side from the front to the rear of the vehicle.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 28-year-old Jamie Nelson of Cotapaxi, Colorado on warrants related to Larceny (Durango Police Department) and vehicle theft (Fort Collins Police).

*44-year-old Stephanie Ann Steel turned herself in on a warrant related to theft of property equal or greater than $20 less than $500 by check.

Wednesday, August 21

*1:58 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2400 block of Monticello regarding the theft of a motor vehicle.   According to the report, the vehicle was stolen sometime between 10:00 PM August 20th and 1:50 AM on August 21.  An investigation was begun and the vehicle was entered into the database as stolen, the report states.  The vehicle was later recovered crossing into Mexico and two suspects arrested in the case in Eagle Pass, TX.

*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a residence in the 8300 block of County Road 464 regarding suspicious circumstances.  According to the report, the deputy arrived and met with 61-year-old Gareth Robert Ganter, who stated that his family had left him at his lake house and that he was supposed to be back in Odessa by 9:00 a.m. this morning.  Ganter asked the deputy to follow him down to his residence located on Elm Oak Road, where the deputy observed items in the residence, garage, garage apartment, and yard to be damaged or destroyed, the report states.  Ganter told the deputy that he was “playing a game” and later told the BCSO investigator that he was “preparing a movie set,” according to the report.  Ganter’s son stated that the property belongs to an estate, of which Ganter and his two sisters are beneficiaries, the report states.  The deputy made contact with Ganter’s sisters who both advised they wished to pursue charges for criminal mischief against Ganter.  It is unknown what the monetary value of the damage is at this time, but it is believed to be well over $1500.  Ganter was arrested and charged with criminal mischief equal or greater than $1500 less than $20,000.

*Brownwood Police arrested 19-year-old Robert Clark on Brownwood municipal warrant.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 42-year-old William Scott McCaslin on a warrant related to failure to appear /theft by check.
