Friday, August 16
*7:50 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1200 block of 1st Street regarding the burglary of a vehicle. According to the report, a Playstation 3, several PS3 games and a 2,000 watt amplifier were stolen. Total value of stolen items was estimated at approximately $550.00.
*9:37 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2300 block of Avenue D regarding the burglary of a vehicle. During the incident the complainant’s wallet was stolen from the vehicle, the report states.
*11:12 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2000 block of Slayden Street regarding the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. According to the report, the complainant stated that he authorized the use of his vehicle to two suspects. The vehicle was released on Wednesday around 2:00 PM and was to be returned to him around 7:00 PM; however, the vehicle had not been returned as of the date of this report and had been entered as stolen, the report states. The suspects had not been able to be located at the time of the report, according to police.
*12:30 PM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding theft. According to the report, the loss prevention officer for Wal-Mart stated that he wished to report a theft from the store. An employee allegedly stole approximately $285.00 cash from the store, the report states. As a result of this investigation, a warrant is being sought for the suspect’s arrest, the report states.*1:41 PM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the Brownwood Police Department regarding the burglary of his storage building located in the 1000 block of W. Commerce which had occurred during the past few months. According to the report, the complainant provided a list of items stolen which included various hand and power tools, a ring, tool box and jumper cables.
*4:30 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 600 block of 5th Street regarding theft. According to the report, the complainant stated that a new tin tub (which was still in its packaging), an old claw foot tub and a stove had been stolen from the residence.
*5:07 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to Wal-Mart regarding an assault. According to the report, after an investigation, a warrant will be sought for the suspect for assault and evading, the report states.
*Early police arrested 37-year-old Jegar Ramah Atchison of Dallas for driving while license invalid with previous convictions.
*Brownwood Police arrested 48-year-old Melvin Allan Bowen of Cherokee on a warrant related to a parole violation.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 24-year-old Lindsey Michelle Brown on a warrant related to engaging in organized crime.
*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 33-year-old Jason Gilbert Guerrero on a warrant for public intoxication.
*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 19-year-old Brian Joseph Thomas on a warrant for theft of property equal or greater than $50 less than $500.
Saturday, August 17
*12:34 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2200 block of 8th Street regarding the burglary of a vehicle. According to the report, the complainant’s wallet was stolen from inside the unlocked vehicle.
*2:07 PM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding theft. According to the report, the complainant’s brown leather wallet was stolen while the complainant was at the Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
*3:02 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of W. Commerce regarding theft. According to the report, the complainant stated that his wallet had been stolen from front center console area of his vehicle while it was parked behind Pizza Hut.
*3:25 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 400 block of W. Commerce regarding a hit and run accident. According to the report, the complainant stated that sometime between 3:45 AM and 4:40 PM this date, someone had struck her vehicle and failed to report it.
*4:17 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the 2000 block of Austin Avenue, Coggin Park, regarding disorderly conduct by fighting. According to the report, three subjects were issued trespass warnings for Coggin Park.
*4:27 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 400 block of W. Commerce, Wal-Mart, regarding an upset customer. According to the report, this call led to the arrest of 61-year-old Gareth Robert Ganter for disorderly conduct – profane language.
*7:34 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the 1500 block of 6th Street regarding the burglary of a vehicle. According to the report, overnight an unknown suspect(s) broke into the complainant’s vehicle and stole several items including a laptop computer, a pellet gun, two wallets, personal identification cards, and multiple prepaid credit/debit cards.
*9:23 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center emergency room regarding an alleged sexual assault. The incident is being investigated, the report states.
*9:34 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 400 block of W. Baker regarding an assault. According to the report, the complainant stated that she had been physically assaulted at another residence and identified a suspect who had left the scene prior to police being called. The complainant’s two daughters stated that they had also been physically assaulted by the suspect.
*11:06 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1600 block of Avenue B regarding an attempted theft of a motor vehicle. According to the report, the complainant stated that three unknown males had attempted to steal his vehicle which had been left running while the complainant had gone into his residence. The complainant was able to pull the vehicle’s keys and stop the theft; however, while pulling the keys, the complainant had been assaulted, the report states. The complainant wished to pursue charges if the suspects can be identified, according to police. An investigation was begun.
*11:20 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the area of 5th Street and Avenue D regarding an unresponsive male subject on the side of the roadway. According to the report, 32-year-old Thomas Dwayne Brummett of Brookesmith was identified and determined to be highly intoxicated. He was examined by medical personnel and determined to have a medical problem at the time and no sober individual could be contacted to take custody of him, so Brummett was subsequently placed under arrest for public intoxication.
*11:57 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of E. Commerce regarding a fight. According to the report, the responding officer arrived and observed several people in the parking lot of the business. Subjects were identified and interviewed, five of which complained of injuries, including one 12-year-old female, the report states. A report for assault with injury and injury to a child was generated.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 41-year-old Paul Allen Boykin of Bangs for driving while intoxicated with open container and possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces and on a warrant for his arrest.
*Brownwood Police arrested 48-year-old Juan Antonio Flores on a warrant related to theft of property equal or greater than $20 less than $500 by check.
*Brownwood Police arrested 27-year-old Jeffery Whitehead of Early on warrants related to theft of property (San Saba County), motion to revoke/community supervision (Mills County), and failure to appear/motion to enforce child support (27th District).
Sunday, August 18
*3:06 AM – A Brownwood Police officer was on patrol in the 2200 block of 1st Street observed a vehicle dome light on in the 1200 block of Parkway. According to the report, upon further investigation, several suspects were seen leaving the area and fled at the sight of officers. One suspect, 24-year-old Daniel Stephen Priester, was located and detained until it was determined that a burglary of a motor vehicle had been committed, the report states. Priester was arrested for burglary of a vehicle and booked into the Brown County Jail without incident.
*7:40 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2400 block of Avenue D regarding the burglary of a vehicle. According to the report, the complainant stated that sometime between the hours of 11:00 PM August 17th and 7:35 AM on this date, someone had broken the passenger side window of the vehicle and stolen her iPad from inside.
*1:13 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1200 block of 14th Street regarding the burglary of a vehicle.
*1:45 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1400 block of Austin Avenue, Brookshire’s grocery store, regarding theft. According to the report, a female subject was being detained in the store office after being caught stealing items from the store. The stolen items included two packages of shrimp and a package of meat, the report states. The female was issued a citation for theft less than $50, according to the report.
*Early Police arrested 30-year-old Fernando Alviso for driving while intoxicated.
*Early Police arrested 49-year-old Joseph Michael Harris of Early on a warrant for criminal non-support.
*Bangs Police arrested 41-year-old Travis Lynn Hopkins for driving while intoxicated.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 25-year-old Nathan Allen Robertson of May on a warrant related to a parole violation/burglary of a habitation/tamper fabricate physical evidence.
*Bangs Police arrested 21-year-old Hector Martin Vaquera of Goldthwaite for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces in a drug free zone.
Monday, August 19
*12:10 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of Durham Avenue regarding a weapons offense/disorderly conduct. According to the report, multiple calls were received reporting gun shots in the area of the 1200 block of Avenue G and Avenue H. The shots were heard by an officer who was in the area on an unrelated call, the report states. After speaking with numerous individuals in the neighborhood, contact was made at a residence in the 1500 block of Durham where several empty casings were found in the driveway, the report states. Officers spoke with 40-year-old Derek Jason Montemayor, who after being read his Miranda rights indicated he had fired shots in the air while he was cleaning his gun, according to the report. Montemayor was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct.
