Law Enforcement arrests and reports released Wednesday and Thursday, August 17 & 18, 2011.

Monday, August 15

*9:25pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1600 block of Avenue A regarding a burglary of a vehicle.  Upon their arrival, it was made known that items were stolen from a vehicle that was parked at this location.  No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

Tuesday, August 16

*10:00am-Brown County Sheriff’s Office responded to a complaint of animal cruelty involving horses at a location on US Hwy 67 W.  According to the deputy investigating, three horses were found at the location, one of which was in poor condition and two that were in his opinion good condition.  No owner could be located at the location.  Although there was a trough with plenty of water for the horses, the area where they were kept had no feed, hay or grasses for the horses to eat, only dirt on the ground, the report states.  The deputy stated in his report that the horse in poor condition was “extremely skinny with rib, hip and backbone showing.”  A report for animal cruelty was made due to the condition of the horse and no feed for the horses.  No arrest had been made at the time of the report; however, the investigation is ongoing. 

*12:27pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 300 block of Center Avenue regarding theft of a coin operated machine.  The apartment manager stated that sometime between the hours of 11:00pm on August 15th and 11:00am August 16th someone burglarized the vending machine in the lobby.

*5:41pm-Brownwood Police were called to 401 W. Commerce regarding theft.  The asset protection employee stated that he had caught Amy Michelle Hamill and Tiffany Nicole Hamill stealing several items from the business.  Amy and Tiffany Hamill concealed items while in the house wares department of the store then walked past the point of sale without paying for the items concealed in Tiffany’s purse, according to the report.  The suspects were both arrested for theft greater than $50.

*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 31-year-old Antonio H. Martinez of Brady for Evading Arrest Detention with Vehicle, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and an outstanding warrant from Brady Police Department for Burglary of a Building.

Wednesday, August 17

*1:04am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to a citizens’ dispute in the 4200 block of S US Hwy 377.  Upon investigation it was found that the true offense was Assault Family Violence as both parties were dating and living together at the location.  No arrests had been made; however further investigation is pending.

*2:38am-Brownwood Police responded to the 1600 block of 3rd Street regarding an assault.  The complainant stated that her boyfriend had assaulted her while she slept.  She also stated that the suspect hit her on the right side of the face while she attempted to call 911 and then took the cellular phone from her.  The State of Texas will pursue charges, according to the report.

*10:04am-Brownwood Police were called to the 300 block of Bluffview Drive regarding theft of currency from the apartment complex office.  The manager advised that cash had been stolen from the office.  There were no suspects at the time of the report.

*12:01pm-A Brownwood Police officer observed a wanted subject at 1 Center Avenue, the Bank of America parking lot.  After the warrant was confirmed, 25-year-old Brandon Nicholas Martinez was arrested for the outstanding warrant from Brown County for Tamper/Fabricate Physical Evidence.  After transporting Martinez to the Brown County Jail, jailors discovered marijuana on his person and he was given an additional charge of Prohibited Substance in a Correctional Facility.

*5:10pm-Brownwood Police responded to the 1000 block of Santa Clara Drive regarding a domestic disturbance.  During the call, a female subject was issued a criminal trespass warning for the residence at the request of the complainant.

*7:01pm-Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 300 block of W. Adams Street.  Investigation showed the driver, 54-year-old Ronald Earl Coleman, to be under SR suspension for no liability insurance.

*11:27pm-Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 700 block of N. Fisk Avenue.  Further investigation showed the driver, identified as 25-year-old Jose Claudio Galaviz, Jr., to be under SR suspension for surcharge and no insurance.  Galaviz was arrested for Driving While License Invalid.

*Brownwood Police arrested 40-year-old Laura Duffer of Early for Driving While Intoxicated with Child Passenger.

All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
