Thursday, August 13
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of theft by check. According to the report, the complainant stated that one of the customers of his business had written him two bad checks and another had written him one bad check.
Friday, August 14
*2:15 AM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 300 block of 4th Street. This stop led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 29-year-old Samuel Castillejos of Fort Worth for driving while intoxicated.
*11:11 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of W. Commerce regarding the theft of a cell phone. According to the report, an iPhone 6 was stolen.
*1:31 PM – While on patrol, a Brownwood police officer was dispatched to the 600 block of W. Anderson Street regarding a domestic disturbance in progress. According to the report, a female was not allowing a male subject to freely leave the property and the male got physical with the female to try to get away from her. The female had minor injuries to her person but refused medical help and stated that they were self inflicted. Information regarding family violence was given to both subjects. A witness was identified and provided a witness statement with little cooperation, the report states.*7:21 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1700 block of Fort Worth Street regarding the burglary of a habitation. According to the report, several items were stolen, a suspect is known and the investigation is ongoing.
*8:26 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 200 block of Streckert Drive regarding a hit and run accident.
*9:53 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1400 block of Avenue E regarding terroristic threat to a family member. The incident was documented after the officer spoke to the complainant.
*Brownwood Police arrested 25-year-old Christopher Andrew Bankhead of Bangs on warrants related to burglary of a habitation, theft of a firearm, and disorderly conduct. Bankhead was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of bonds totaling $30,300 as of Monday morning.
*82-year-old Wilma Dean Cooley turned herself in on a warrant related to motion to adjudicate/theft of services equal or greater than $1500 less than $20,000.
*19-year-old Gavin Gill of Brownwood was arrested on warrants related to sexual assault of a child under 14 years of age, aggravated sexual assault of a child, and three counts of possession of child pornography. Gill was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of bonds totaling $190,000 as of Monday morning.
*27-year-old Irene Nicole Hernandez of Brownwood turned herself in on a warrant related to motion to adjudicate/burglary of a habitation. Hernandez was released on $20,000 bond.
*Brownwood Police arrested 25-year-old Destinee Angela Marie Hood of Coleman on a warrant related to motion to adjudicate/criminal mischief. Hood was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bond as of Monday morning.
*Brown County Sheriff’s office arrested 46-year-old Mark Anthony Stewart of Brownwood on a warrant related to motion to adjudicate/burglary of a habitation. Stewart was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bond as of Monday morning.
Saturday, August 15
*12:09 AM – Brownwood Police responded to the 2300 block of Austin Avenue regarding a motor vehicle accident. According to the report, the driver of the vehicle was taken to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center emergency room with injuries. An initial investigation was conducted due to alcoholic beverages being discovered in the passenger compartment of the vehicle, the report states.
*10:39 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy received a report of credit/debit card abuse. According to the report, the complainant stated that she had received her bank statement and discovered two fraudulent charges, one from California and another from New York. Both charges appeared to have occurred on Tuesday, August 4, 2015, the report states.
*2:38 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 400 block of W. Commerce regarding theft. According to the report, store employees observed the suspect, identified as 44-year-old Alisha MichelleThomas of Bangs, shoplift $705.72 worth of merchandise. Thomas was subsequently arrested for class a theft, the report states.
*5:21 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 300 block of W. Commerce regarding two males who were sitting inside of a vehicle consuming alcohol. According to the report, this call led to the arrest of 47-year-old Chris Burt Hardaway of Bangs for public intoxication.
*10:00 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 200 block of W. Commerce Street regarding a citizens’ dispute. According to the report, the officer arrived on scene to find two males on the ground with one of the subjects holding the other subject to the ground. The subjects were separated and after further investigation, one of the male subjects, identified as 33-year-old Shannon Logan Thomas of Brownwood, was arrested for criminal trespassing.
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy observed two vehicles racing at 110 mph westbound on Hwy 67. According to the report, the deputy was able to catch up with the vehicles and made a stop on an orange Camaro. The driver, identified as 21-year-old Marcus Valencia of Santa Anna, was then arrested for racing on highway.
Sunday, August 16
*8:34 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2100 block of Sierra Drive regarding found property. According to the report, the complainant stated that he had found a bicycle in front of the Runaway Train and had brought it to his home. The bicycle was brought to the law enforcement center for safe keeping until it can be properly identified by its rightful owner.
*9:03 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2100 block of 10th Street regarding the burglary of a habitation. According to the report, the complainant stated that someone had burglarized her residence and a possible suspect was identified.
*9:20 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was called to a report of criminal mischief regarding damage to a county road sign at County Road 257 and CR 258. While en route, the deputy discovered the stop sign at CR 267 and CR 257, two no parking signs at the low water crossing on CR 257, and the low water crossing sign at CR 257 and CR 258 were also damaged.
*9:59 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Terrace Drive regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, the female complainant stated that her spouse had assaulted her in the Walmart parking lot. Documentation of family violence was completed, the report states.
*2:05 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 400 block of W. Commerce regarding theft. According to the report, an asset protection employee witnessed a suspect conceal $35.62 worth of merchandise. The suspect was issued a citation for theft less than $50.
*5:54 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Coleman Street regarding a suspicious call. According to the report, this call led to the arrest of 17-year-old Nikita Marie Martinez of Brownwood on an active Comanche County warrant and an additional charge of failure to identify fugitive.
*10:47 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1800 block of Durham Avenue regarding an aggravated assault with bodily injury.
*11:37 PM – Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop at the intersection of US Hwy 67W and FM 585. According to the report, after observing the driver’s nervous behavior, a search of the vehicle located a small amount of marijuana in the vehicle. The driver, identified as Daniel Tillery, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle for the driver not wearing a seat belt. According to the report, the driver, identified as Bobbie Darter, advised that she was aware that she was not wearing her seat belt. The deputy requested a consent search of the vehicle and Darter refused, the report states. When the deputy advised he was going to call the K9 unit out, she immediately confessed she had “pot” in the vehicle, the report states. A search of the vehicle discovered a small joint in the ashtray, a small wooden box with marijuana residue and a small glass pipe with crystalline substance which tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine, according to the report. Darter was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana in a drug free zone and possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram in a drug free zone.
*Brown County Sheriff’ Office arrested 36-year-old Jim Ed Liner of Rices Crossing, Texas for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces and driving while license invalid.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 39-year-old Johnny Wayne Sharp of Early for injury to a child.
Monday, August 17
*Early Police arrested 24-year-old Caleb Holbrook of San Marcos for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.
