Law Enforcement arrests and reports released Tuesday, August 17, 2010.

Monday, August 16

*7:40am – Brownwood Police responded to Brookshire’s grocery store in the 1400 block of Austin Avenue regarding a theft.   The report indicated that 2 markers were stolen valued at $2.99.

*5:57pm – Brownwood Police responded to a report of theft in the 1200 block of Avenue A.  The report stated that an unknown subject kicked in the door of a woman’s home and stole a wooden table from her back yard.  Nothing else was missing according to the owner’s family.

*7:45pm – Brownwood Police responded to a report of an unwanted person in the 2100 block of Morris Sheppard Drive.   Reports state that 20-year-old Donovan James Carrasco was arrested and charged with Burglary of Habitation with Intent to Assault.  Police reports state that Carrasco kicked in a door of a subject’s apartment in the continuation of an incident from the previous day.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call just before midnight to Ray Barnes Drive in Bangs.   Reports state that a male subject, identified as 38-year-old James Don Simpson, became increasingly aggressive and verbally abusive to the deputies during questioning.  Reports also state that Simpson attempted to leave during questioning by going into his backyard towards a shed where deputies were told guns were stored.  The reports state that the suspect was ordered to stop, but did not comply with the officer’s commands.   Deputies deployed a taser, which had no effect, and then drew their guns and took Simpson into custody.  He was charged with Evading Arrest.

Tuesday, August 17

*Bangs Police arrested 31-year-old David Turner and charged him with Assault Family Violence with Injury, Interfering with a 911 call, and Cruelty to Animals.

All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
