A woman was arrested Sunday morning for DWI after crashing her vehicle into the Goodwill building near the intersection of W. Commerce and Beaver Street. 39-year-old Katheryn Tellez was arrested after hitting the corner of the building, going through a fence and hitting a tree causing the vehicle to go through a second fence, the report states.
According to Brownwood Assistant Chief of Police James Fuller, the woman drove across W. Commerce from Beaver Street and struck the corner of the Goodwill building and then the fence. Police reports state that after performing standardized field sobriety tests, they determined that she was “under the influence of an unknown substance.” Police were notified of the accident by the woman’s On-Star system. She was taken to Brownwood Regional Medical Center for a blood draw and then booked into the Brown County Jail.

*12:45pm – Brownwood Police were dispatched to a minor accident with no injuries in the 500 block of W. Commerce St. Reports state that both the driver and passenger of one of the vehicles were found to be in possession of marijuana. Subsequently, the driver 18-year-old Troy Eaton and passenger 17-year-old Aaron Rodriguez of Brownwood were arrested for possession of marijuana and transported to Brown County Jail.
*3:57pm – Brownwood Police responded to a business on Main Street in reference to possible theft. The complainant reported that a large amount of money has been taken from his business by an employee possibly over the course of several years. The investigation continues.
*5:50pm – Brownwood Police were dispatched to Wal-mart in reference to a theft. Reports state that three juvenile males left the store with an unknown amount of merchandise without paying for it.
*6:00pm – Brownwood Police received a report from a woman who has received numerous threatening phone calls and voice messages from an acquaintance.
*8:59pm – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 700 block of E. Baker regarding criminal mischief. Police discovered damage to a window in the area.
*9:29pm – Brownwood Police responded to an accident with injuries in the 900 block of Riverside Drive. The report states that police determined that the accident was caused by the driver of a vehicle who lost control going westbound on Riverside Drive and struck a parked vehicle. The driver, 31-year-old Jason Valdez of Brady, was arrested for DWI after an investigation and taken to Brownwood Regional Medical Center for a blood draw.
*11:40pm – Brownwood Police responded to the 500 block of E. Commerce regarding an intoxicated man. 47-year-old Leslie William Carr was arrested for Public Intoxication.

*12:56pm – A Brownwood Police officer stopped two male pedestrians in the 1300 block of 1st Street due to a burglary in the area. One of the subjects stated that he had a marijuana pipe and gave it to the officer. He was issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia.
*11:50pm – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Melwood in reference to a disturbance at another location. As a result of an investigation, 17-year-old Justin Thomas Moore was arrested for disorderly conduct.
*Brownwood Police arrested 32-year-old Gary Wayne Blackmon of Wickett, Tx for Possession of Marijuana.
*Brownwood Police arrested 48-year-old Tony Marvin Carr for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Open Container.
*Early Police arrested 39-year-old Misti Dawn Willborn Matthews of Brownwood for Driving while license invalid.
Sunday, August 14
* Officer Brandon McMillian and Officer Steven Means of the Early Police Department stopped a vehicle in the 900 block of Early Blvd for a traffic violation and swerving across the center line, according to reports. Standard field sobriety test were provided and the driver Juan Rolando Perez was taken to BRMC for a blood test then to the Brown County Jail where he was charged for DWI 1st offense.
*1:57am – Brownwood Police responded to the 1500 block of Magnolia regarding an assault.
*12:45pm – Brownwood Police responded to Brownwood Regional Medical center regarding a 4-year-old who was bitten on the hand and face by a pit bull. Police said that the girl was playing with her dog when the other dog came up to attack it. The little girl’s dog ran off and the pit bull attacked her instead, according to police. The animal was contained and was picked up by animal control for testing.
*2:27pm – Brownwood Police responded to a report of burglary of mini-storage units in the 500 block of W. Austin.
*4:04pm – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1800 block of Avenue I regarding a civil matter. Police are investigating charges of abandoning or endangering a child as well as criminal trespass.
*10:30pm – Brownwood Police took a report for a missing person. The person was entered into the statewide registry.
*11:50pm – Brownwood Police responded to the 1000 block of W. Commerce regarding criminal mischief. Police observed that a mailbox at a nearby residence was hit with something causing damage estimated to be $50.
Monday, August 15
Officer Brandon McMillian and Officer Steven Means of the Early Police Department observed a vehicle on CC Woodson swerving over the center line. Officers stopped the vehicle and immediately smelled alcohol coming from the vehicle, reports state. Officer McMillian conducted standard field sobriety test, and the driver Daniel Hunt was then taken to the Brown County Jail after a blood test and booked for DWI 1st offense.
*12:59am – Brown County Sheriff’s office arrested Carolyn Lea Dobbins for Disorderly Conduct. According to the report, deputies responded to a residence three times in 16 hours for disturbances and arrested the suspect for “continuing breach of peace,” reports state.
*3:00am – Brownwood Police responded to a hit-and-run accident in the 200 block of E. Commerce. The complainant reported that her vehicle which was parked had been struck by another vehicle.
*3:02am – Brown County Sheriff’s office responded to Monte Carlo Copies Fax & More on Thunderbird Drive at North Lake Brownwood regarding a possible break-in.
*Brown County Sheriff’s office arrested 26-year-old Jamie Rae Dysert of May for Disorderly Conduct.
*7:00am – Officer Stephanie Haile stopped a vehicle for speeding in the 900 block of Early Blvd. The driver Sonia Soto Deleon, 43, from San Angelo had an outstanding warrant from Runnels County for Surety withdrawal on Possession of Controlled Substance. The 3 other occupants all had suspended drivers license and were unable to drive the vehicle. Upon checking the vehicle, a baggie was located containing an zip lock baggie of “ice” methamphetamine along with an unlabeled bottle of pills identified as Tramadol, reports state. Officer Haile located further information indicating Deleon and the others were taking the pills to be sold to another individual in Waco. The other 3 occupants were arrested and taken to the Brown Co Jail. Arrestees and charges include:

Blanco Escobedo 21 yrs old from San Angelo – Possession of Controlled Substance Felony 3, Delivery of Dangerous Drugs State Jail Felony.
