Sunday, August 12
*4:40pm-Brownwood Police received a report of possible child abuse or neglect. According to the report, the complainant provided information about the child, the child’s family and the child’s behavior and an officer called the Child Protective Services hotline.
Monday, August 13
*4:00am-Brownwood Police were called to the 1300 block of 1st Street regarding arson. According to the report, the complainant found a window by his back door broken and that an area of the kitchen had been burnt by what appeared to be a Molotov cocktail. A bottle was found inside the house lying under the broken window in a pile of burnt debris. The complainant also found several more bottles outside the home which were used in the incident, some of the bottles contained what appeared to be gasoline or cotton balls that had been soaked in a yellow liquid believed to be gas. The Fire Marshal is investigating.
*8:45am-Brownwood Police met a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center regarding theft. According to the report, the complainant stated that her neighbor is stealing her mail.
*10:46am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1700 block of 7th Street regarding ID theft. According to the report, the complainant showed police a letter that she received from Brookshire’s which contained a copy of a check with the complainant’s name and address. The check did not match her account and none of the complainant’s money was withdrawn. She stated that Brookshire’s is pursuing criminal charges, the report states.
*12:12pm-Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center regarding the violation of a protective order. According to the report, the complainant stated that her ex-husband is violating the protective order by calling her cell phone and work phone.
*12:44pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Coggin Avenue regarding found property. A wallet found by a customer was turned over to police, the report states.
*8:55pm-Brownwood police were called to the 407 block of Main Street regarding the theft of a mountain bike.
Tuesday, August 14
*11:23am-Brownwood Police were called to the 1900 block of Coggin Avenue regarding the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. According to the report, the complainant stated that her son’s pickup had been stolen during the night.
*11:53am-Brownwood Police were called to the 2700 block of 4th Street regarding found property. According to the report, a Brownwood water department employee was reading water meters when a customer gave him an ID case containing several pieces of identification for an individual with a Kingsville address. The customer had found the items in the street, the report states. The officer was unable to locate a telephone number for the individual, so the items were placed into the BPD evidence room for safekeeping.
*1:44pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 2100 block of Main Blvd. According to the report, the complainant stated that he was assaulted by his girlfriend’s son, identified as 28-year-old John Little. After investigation, Little was arrested for Assault with Injury Family Violence.
*2:33pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 3000 block of Avenue D regarding theft of services. According to the report, the manager of the business stated that a customer brought a vehicle in for repairs and after the repairs were completed, the customer removed the vehicle from the garage parking lot without paying for the repairs. The manager contacted the customer who came into the garage that day and was provided with a copy of the bill totaling $1321.68 for all parts, labor and tax; however the customer has not paid for the repairs and will not answer his phone or contact the manager, the report states.
*3:35pm-Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center regarding theft. According to the report, an unknown suspect used her debit card number to make some unauthorized transactions in the United Kingdom.
*7:34pm-Brown County Sheriff’s Office were called to a residence on Waterford Drive in Brown County. According to the report, a 55-year-old woman reported being assaulted by a 43-year-old woman. The victim did have minor injuries to her face and wished to file charges, the report states. The 43-year-old suspect was contacted and found to be intoxicated and was arrested for the assault, according to the report.
*8:46pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the intersection of Porter and Maple in reference to a fight in progress.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 62-year-old Carl Wayne Newton for Possession of Marijuana less than 2 ounces.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 30-year-old Samuel Seth Roth of Bangs for Public Intoxication.
Wednesday, August 15
*Brownwood Police arrested 38-year-old Michael Joe Anderson for Disorderly Conduct and an outstanding warrant of Indecency with a Child.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 43-year-old Elise Maurine Moore for Assault Causes Bodily Injury.
