LECSmAccording to Early Chief of Police David Mercer, sometime during the night of August 12th and morning of August 13th, someone removed 60 bronze vases from grave stones at the Eastlawn Cemetery.

Mercer stated that all the vases were removed from the graves and flowers were placed back into the holes that remained.  The estimated value of these vases exceeds $10,000, he stated.  The investigation is ongoing.

Eastlawn Cemetery officials stated on their Facebook page that this was the first theft the cemetery has ever had and that the theft occurred in the Garden of Devotion area.

Friday, August 9

*6:15 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to a property on County Road 305 regarding animal cruelty.  According to the report, the complainant stated that a known subject had moved six horses onto the property approximately two weeks ago and that the subject had only been watering the horses about every two days.  The complainant reported that there is no other water on the property and that the horses were very thin, the report states.  The deputy went to the property and located six horses by the gate that had cactus needles in their faces and were thin enough to see their ribs and hip bones, according to the report.  The deputy also stated that an empty water container was located on the property.

Saturday, August 10

*Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to Buckview Road regarding the theft of a motor vehicle.  According to the report, the owner reported that between the hours of 8:00 p.m. on August 9th and 6:00 a.m. on August 10th, someone stole her 2002 Dodge 1500 4-door pickup from her driveway.  Justin Daniell was named as the suspect, because he had been involved in fleeing on foot from police in that area at approximately 3:00 a.m. on this date, the report states.  The vehicle was located at the rest stop on Hwy 183 South, near Daniell’s residence, according to the deputy’s report.  Daniell was later arrested on multiple outstanding warrants and remains in the Brown County Jail.  He had not been charged with the theft of the vehicle as of Tuesday.

Monday, August 12

*9:28 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1400 block of Brady Avenue regarding the burglary of a building.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her vehicle was broken into while she was at a local club.  Items stolen include $8.00 in cash, two prescription medications, a purse, wallet and cell phone, the report states.  The complainant wished to pursue charges when a suspect is identified, the report states.

*9:31 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Magnolia regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, the complainant stated that someone put sugar into the tank of her vehicle while it was parked at 1500 Magnolia.

*1:26 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 700 block of Malone Street regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the tailgate to his pickup had been stolen along with a metal table saw.

*6:23 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the 1800 block of Broadmoor Drive regarding a domestic dispute.  A report was taken and turned into the Brownwood Police Department for consideration of criminal penalties related to assault with injury family violence, the report states.

*8:14 PM – Brownwood Police made a pedestrian stop in the area of 4th Street and Parkway for an equipment violation on a bicycle.  According to the report, officers received permission from the subject, identified as 30-year-old Frank Brummett, to search his belongings where they found a prescription pill and green leafy substance.  Brummett was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance penalty group 3 less than 28 grams, the report states.

*9:12 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1200 block of Avenue G regarding theft.  According to the report, four tires mounted on 22-inch chrome wheels were stolen from the driveway of the residence.  The value of the stolen items is estimated at more than $130, the report states.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 39-year-old Antonio Tamar Alexander of Snyder on a warrant related to failure to appear/driving while license invalid with previous conviction.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 38-year-old David Allen Elliott of Brady on a bench warrant.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 30-year-old Brandon Jamall Payne of Bangs on a warrant related to possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 32-year-old Leslee Joe Reid of Early on a warrant related to possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 23-year-old Jessica Bonnie Wheat for possession of a controlled substance in a drug free zone.
