Friday, August 10

*8:20am-Brownwood Police were called to the 1600 block of Belle Plain Street regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, the front tires of a Ford pickup were “slashed” between the hours of 9pm and 5am.  A suspect has been identified, the report states.

*3:31pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 700 block of W. Austin Avenue regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that a co-worker had stolen money from her.  There were two instances of theft over the past few days which totaled $180, the report states.  Suspect information has been provided according to the report.

*8:25pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 300 block of W. Adams Street regarding theft.  According to the report, the landlord of the residence stated that a tenant moved out of an apartment and took with him property belonging to the landlord.

*9:48pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3500 block of Rhodes Road regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that an unknown person had stolen money from her residence.

*9:52pm-Brownwood Police made a pedestrian stop on two males in the 1300 block of Durham Avenue.  According to the report, during the stop, one of the males was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.  The male was issued a citation for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and released from the scene.

Saturday, August 11

*4:17am-Brownwood Police were called to the 700 block of Gifford Street regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that approximately $105 of merchandise had been stolen from a freezer that is located outside of his residence.   The incident is pending further investigation, the report states.

*11:42am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1400 block of Austin Avenue where two shoplifters were being detained.  According to the report, the male and female each attempted to walk out of the store concealing items totaling almost $14.00.  The two suspects were each issued citations for theft less than $50 and issued trespass warnings for the property.

*4:43pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1600 block of 4th Street regarding an assault.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her daughter had struck her numerous times and was having to be physically restrained.  The juvenile is currently on probation and was arrested for Assault Family Violence.

*5:14pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 500 block of Milton.  According to the report, a female allegedly was trying to enter a residence.  Upon further investigation, it was determined that the suspect, Tracy Bishop, was given permission to enter the residence; however, Bishop was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Drug Free Zone Penalty Group 3 less than 28grams.

*10:26pm- A Brownwood Police officer was dispatched to the area of 9th Street and Avenue B regarding a reckless driver.  According to the report, the vehicle was located and the driver, identified as 21-year-old Austin Yancey, was found to be intoxicated.

*11:36pm-Brownwood Police were called to the area of Beaver Street and W. Austin Avenue by another officer regarding a vehicle who was failing to maintain a single lane.  The vehicle pulled into the 100 block of Johnson Street and the officer made contact with the driver, identified as 24-year-old Irene Nicole Hernandez, the report states.  Jail records state that Hernandez was arrested for DWI.

*Brownwood Police arrested 34-year-old Tracy Renee Bishop of Bangs for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 3 less than 28 grams in a Drug Free Zone.

*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 29-year-old Michael Pena for Driving While Intoxicated.

Sunday, August 12

*12:33am-Brownwood Police were called to the 2600 block of Temple Avenue regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, the complainant identified a male who had damaged his dog kennel after stopping by the complainant’s home to retrieve some beer at approximately 12:30am.  The complainant stated that the suspect had rammed his dog kennel with his truck, causing approximately $500 damage and then left the scene, the report states.   The suspect could not be located at the time of the report; however the officer did note one bent fence post in the kennel that was damaged during the incident.

*1:57am-Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of Main Street regarding a domestic disturbance.  According to the report, the complainant stated that when she arrived home from being out with a friend, her boyfriend grabbed her and began to hit her in the face.  When she told the man she was going to call police, he quit hitting her and left the residence.

*6:57am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Coggin Avenue regarding theft.  According to the report, surveillance video from the business showed a male subject, approximately in his 20s, take a 30-pack of beer and leave in a Dodge pickup.  If the suspect can be identified, charges will be pursued, the report states.

*7:18am-Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of 2nd Street regarding an intoxicated male at the residence.  According to the report, the complainant did not know the male but that he was passed out on her front porch.  23-year-old Jonathan Andrew Murphy was arrested for Public Intoxication.

*1:00pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 2200 block of Avenue E regarding the burglary of a Habitation.  According to the report, the complainant advised that an unknown person entered his home and stole an air conditioning unit along with a Metallica collector’s boxed set.

*5:31pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 2100 block of 8th Street regarding the burglary of a vehicle.  According to the report, overnight a CD player, amp and various cables were taken from the complainant’s vehicle.

*6:13pm-Brownwood police were dispatched to the burglary of a vehicle in the 2200 block of 16th Street.  According to the report, the complainant’s purse and its contents were taken from her vehicle.

*6:41pm- A Brownwood Police officer made a traffic stop in the area of 3rd Street and Avenue C on a vehicle for running a stop sign.  The driver, identified as 27-year-old Carrie Cox, was determined to have a suspended driver’s license and no insurance on her vehicle, according to police reports.  Cox was arrested for Driving While License Invalid and for Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.

*6:48pm-Brownwood Police responded to the 4400 block of Rosewood Drive regarding an unwanted person.  According to the report, the complainant stated that his daughter-in-law had arrived at the residence and spit in his wife’s face.  The complainant’s wife then struck the subject and a fight  took place between the two women, the report states.

*Brownwood Police arrested 39-year-old James Earl Nickerson for Assault Causes Bodily Injury.

Monday, August 13

*12:16am-A Brownwood Police officer was patrolling in the 600 block of N. Center Avenue when he observed six juveniles riding their bicycles in the middle of the roadway.  According to the report, the juveniles stated that they were riding their bicycles to Coggin Park.  The juveniles provided their names and dates of birth which were documented by communications.  According to police, after searching the information on his computer, the officer realized approximately 10 minutes later, that one of the juveniles actually provided him with a false name.  The officer relocated the juvenile at the park and communications advised that the juvenile was currently listed as a runaway out of Brownwood.  The juvenile was arrested and taken to the juvenile detention center.
