Law Enforcement arrests and reports released Thursday, August 12, 2010.
Saturday, August 7
*At 1:10pm, a Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to Julia Court in Bangs in reference to a stolen air compressor. According to the report, the owner showed the deputy where someone had walked through the 4 foot tall grass & weeds surrounding the house and cut the wires to the 4 ton compressor which was missing. The owner stated that the air compressor was present on Saturday, August 1 when he was at the residence last. Identifying information for the unit was taken; however, no arrest had been made as of the time of the report.
Tuesday, August 10
*At 1:15pm, a Brown County Jail inmate reported to the Brownwood Police Department that his checkbook had possibly been stolen. He reported to police that someone had been circulating some of the stolen checks.
Wednesday, August 11
*At 10:40, Brown County Sheriff’s Office was called to a report of juvenile theft at Big G’s Grocery at Lake Brownwood. The owner stated that two customers had been in the store, and she believed they had stolen some items. The male suspect was instructed to empty his pockets and cigarettes were found the report states. When the owner was talking to the other suspect, the male grabbed the items and ran out of the store. No arrests had been made at the time of the report.
*At 1:15pm, a Brownwood Police officer was called to the 1700 block of Avenue B in reference to the burglary of a vehicle. According to police, the complainant reported a blue Nokia slide cell phone valued at $100 had been stolen.
*At 6:34pm, Brownwood Police responded to a report of an assault the 900 block of 11th Street. Two men reported being physically attacked by a man when they were attempting to repossess his vehicle. The victims both wished to pursue charges. A possible suspect was seen fleeing the scene when officers arrived.
*At 8:15pm, Brownwood Police responded to 1414 Coggin Avenue to a report of a missing or stolen bicycle.
Thursday, August 12
*Bangs Police Department arrested Nathan Arguello and 19-year-old Whitney Tipler for Possession of Marijuana<or = 2oz in a Drug Free Zone.
*At 12:07am, a Brownwood Police officer arrested 42-year-old James Elliott Hunter for Assault Causing Bodily Injury Family Violence. According to the victim and witnesses on scene, Hunter and the victim were involved in an argument which resulted in Hunter allegedly knocking the victim off of the stairs and onto the bottom floor the report states. The victim was transported to BRMC by Guardian EMS to treat multiple injuries.
All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
