Friday, August 8

*8:07 AM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding credit/debit card abuse.  According to the report, the complainant stated that a fuel card had been stolen and used multiple times without consent.

*11:15 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2700 block of Cleburne Street regarding the burglary of a habitation.

*12:07 PM – Brownwood Police were called to Walmart regarding theft.  According to the report, suspects were identified and charges are being pursued.  The investigation is ongoing, the report states.

*1:51 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2200 block of Indian Creek Road regarding the theft of a credit/debit card abuse.  According to the report, the complainant is pursuing charges against the suspect for paying a bill using her debit card without her permission.

*5:04 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s Office conducted a valid traffic stop at the intersection of County Road 321 and Highway 377 East in Blanket.  According to the report, as the deputy approached the vehicle at the passenger side window, he detected the odor of alcohol as he identified the driver as 34-year-old Rafael Castillo-Navarro of Granbury.  Castillo failed standardized field sobriety tests and was arrested for driving while intoxicated open container, according to the report.  A breath specimen was obtained at the Brown County Jail with results of 0.136 and 0.132 respectively, the report states. Rafael’s driver’s license was confiscated and he was then released to the Brown County Jail.

*5:45 PM – A Brownwood Police officer made a traffic stop in the 2900 block of Coggin Avenue on a driver who he had knowledge did not have a valid/current driver’s license.  According to the report, dispatch notified the officer that the male held a valid Texas identification card only and that he was known for narcotics.  The male, identified as 57-year-old Kenneth Omer Gable of Brownwood, was arrested for driving while license invalid and a search of his vehicle found a prescription bottle containing suspected methamphetamine.   Gable was also charged with possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram in a drug free zone.

*11:34 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1800 block of 8th Street regarding an assault.  According to the report, the victim initially indicated that he had been stabbed by an unknown intruder that had fled the scene.  After further investigation, the injury was determined to have been caused by an accident and the initial report was unfounded, the report states.  The victim was released to the care of Brownwood Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries, according to police.

* Brown County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of an assault at a residence on CR 382 in Early.  According to the report, the complainant stated that a male and female were fighting.  Deputies and other agency officers arrived shortly after the call was received; however both the victim and suspect had left on foot, the report states.  A description of the victim and suspect were provided and after a search of the area for almost an hour, officers found the female victim hiding in a bush, according to the report.  The victim denied any assault after repeated questioning, but contusions and large bumps were visible above her left eye, according to the deputy’s report.  The victim continued to state that the injuries were a result of an injury received while hiding.  The suspect, identified as 37-year-old Julio Victor Torro of Brownwood, was later was located on a subsequent call to the same address and arrested on the basis of a parole revocation warrant, the report states.  The victim, 21-year-old Monica Martin of Brownwood, continued to be uncooperative and was arrested when she assaulted Early Police Department Officer Michelle Sheedy, the report states.  Martin was charged with assault public servant and Torro was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 31-year-old Billy Lafayette Berkley of San Saba on a warrant related to unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

*29-year-old Alisha Gail Byrd of Brownwood turned herself in on City of Early municipal warrants related to violate promise to appear, failure to maintain financial responsibility and no driver’s license.

*Brownwood Police arrested 53-year-old Juan Castillo of Brownwood for driving while intoxicated.

*Brownwood Police arrested 38-year-old Michael Glynn Fulton of Early for disorderly conduct.

*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 44-year-old Kenneth James Hackett of Electra on Wichita County warrants related to possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram and surety withdrawal/possession of a controlled substance in a drug free zone.

*Brownwood Police arrested 26-year-old Michael Wayne Hays of Big Spring on a warrant related to a parole violation.

*Brownwood Police arrested 19-year-old Colton J Huckaby of Round Rock for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.

Saturday, August 9

*12:29 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 300 block of 4th Street regarding an assault.  According to the report, the female half of the dispute stated that she and her boyfriend had gotten into a physical altercation after they returned from the bar.  The male had left the scene prior to the officer’s arrival, but was later located and interviewed.  After speaking with both parties, a report for assault with injury family violence was documented, according to police.

*8:54 AM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant’s mother’s cell phone had been stolen.

*2:19 AM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 300 block of W. Baker Street on a vehicle for a speeding violation.  According to the report, this stop led to the arrest of 24-year-old Roby Dale McNeil of Grand Prairie for driving while license invalid/failure to maintain financial responsibility.

*6:29 AM – A Brown Sheriff’s deputy initiated a traffic stop in the 5600 block of N. Hwy 279 for speeding.  According to the report, the driver of the vehicle, identified as 51-year-old Jonathan Nathan Rodriguez of Brownwood refused to stop and accelerated in an attempt to evade the deputy.  Rodriguez eventually stopped in about the 15000 block of N. Hwy. 279 where he was placed under arrest for evading arrest or detention in a vehicle with a previous conviction the report states.  Rodriguez was being held at the Brown County Jail in lieu of a $15,000 bond.

*10:23 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 800 block of W. Commerce regarding theft.

*11:30 AM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, the complainant advised that her daughter’s eye glasses had been damaged by an unknown subject at 3201 Milam Drive (the Brownwood Aquatic Center).

*6:39 PM – Brownwood Police were called to Walmart regarding the burglary of a vehicle.  According to the report, the complainant reported while he was at work, someone stole the battery from his vehicle. The complainant wished to pursue charges, the report states.

*7:53 PM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the area of Booker and W. Austin Avenue regarding a defective brake light.  This call led to the arrest of Martin Duran for driving while license invalid/failure to maintain financial responsibility.

*9:28 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1800 block of 3rd Street regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, a tire on the complainant’s vehicle was punctured twice resulting in it being irreparable.

*9:54 PM – After receiving a call from an off-duty officer regarding a possible intoxicated driver, a Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 1200 block of Beaver Street.  According to the report, the off-duty officer witnessed the vehicle run over a curb and fail to yield the right of way during a lane change.  The off-duty officer followed the vehicle until the responding officer was able to make contact and conduct a traffic stop.  The vehicle was stopped and the driver identified as Juan Castillo.  After an investigation, Castillo was arrested for driving while intoxicated.  Castillo consented to a blood draw, which was collected at the Brownwood Regional Medical Center emergency room.

*4:13 PM – Brownwood Police were called to Walmart regarding the theft of a chain saw from the bed of a pickup.  The owner did not wish to pursue charges, the report states.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for failing to stop at a designated stopping point. The driver was identified as Amber Bergman who advised the officer she did not have a driver’s license.  Bergman was asked to exit the vehicle and after an investigation, advised the officer that she had marijuana located in her bra, the report states. She removed the marijuana which was in a small green plastic container along with a clear baggie of white substance which field tested positive for methamphetamine, according to the report.  The container held 1.7g of marijuana and 0.3g of methamphetamine.  Bergman was arrested for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces and possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram.  As a jailer conducted a routine search of Bergman, 1 Xanax pill was located in the front pocket of the shorts Bergman was wearing, the report states.   Bergman was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance penalty group 3 less than 28 grams.

*40-year-old Marty Del McFall of Brownwood was arrested on a warrant related to assault causes bodily injury family violence.

Sunday, August 10

* 6:33 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy were dispatched to a residence on El Paso Street regarding theft.  The complainants stated that property was missing from their house and named a suspect.

*8:13 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to the BRMC Emergency Room regarding a dog bite. According to the report, the juvenile victim stated a friend’s dog had bitten her on her left leg.  A small dog bite just above the knee was observed by the deputy, the report states.  The owner of the dog was issued a citation for unvaccinated animal and the animal will be quarantined for 14 days.

*9:21 PM – Brown County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the County Road 139/FM 585 intersection in Brownwood, TX 76801 in reference to an assault.

*Brownwood Police arrested 18-year-old Hunter Briwa of Round Rock for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.

*Texas Parks and Wildlife Department arrested 37-year-old Matthew S Coday of Andrews for boating while intoxicated.

*Brownwood Police arrested 45-year-old Martin Fortson Duran of Willcox, Arizona for driving while license invalid with previous conviction or suspension.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 20-year-old Brooke Nicole Lewis of Brownwood on Mills County warrants related to possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram in a drug free zone and possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.

*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 20-year-old Jarran Pedersen of Austin for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 2 equal or greater than 4 grams less than 400 grams and possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 35-year-old Cory Otis Searcy of Early on a Taylor County warrant related to theft of property by check.

*Brownwood Police arrested 32-year-old Johnny Kenny Edward Slaughter of Brownwood on a warrant related to burglary of a building enhanced.

Monday, August 11

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 46-year-old Lawrence Craig Duquette of Coleman for assault causes bodily injury family violence.
