Law Enforcement arrests and reports released Wednesday, July 7, 2010.

Monday, July 5

*At approximately 9:00am, Brownwood Police were called to the 2600 block of Avenue B.  According to the report, two vehicles had been criminally damaged overnight.  No suspect information was available at the time of the report.

Tuesday, July 6

*Early Police Department arrested 30-year-old Ryan John Myers for Driving While Intoxicated 3rd Open Container.

*At 11:10am, City Marshal Dean Kilburn went to a residence in the 2100 block of Avenue D to serve an arrest warrant.  According to the report, a woman answered the door and stated that the suspect, 25-year-old Fletcher Liggin had left earlier to go to a friend’s home to look for a job.  Kilburn asked if he could look around the property and the woman told him he could.  The report states that Kilburn found Liggin asleep in a back bedroom.  Police state that as Liggin was allowed to dress, he went into the living room to put his shoes on and then bolted out the front door.  After a foot chase, he was apprehended, charged with Evading Arrest/Detention and for the warrant, and then transported to the Brown County Jail.

*At 1:50pm, a Brownwood Police officer met with a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center.  According to the report, she stated that a laptop computer had been stolen from her son’s truck while it was parked near the intersection of 10th Street and Avenue D.  The laptop was listed as stolen and a report was filed.

*At approximately 3:24pm, Brownwood Police were called to Brownwood Regional Medical Center, where they met with officials who reported 6 envelopes of fraudulent checks and money orders.  Suspect information was provided and the offense is being investigated.

*At 7:28pm, a Brownwood Police officer was called to the 200 block of E. Commerce in reference to a hit and run.  The officer spoke to witnesses on scene and was able to obtain a license plate number for a suspect vehicle.  Upon further investigation, the officer was able to locate a suspect, later identified as 47-year-old Michael Shaun Webb, who confessed to the crime after he was read his Miranda rights according to the report.  Webb was arrested for Duty Striking an Unattended Vehicle.

* At 8:26pm Brownwood Police found an abandoned 18 speed bicycle on Arrowhead Drive.  To claim the bicycle, the owner may properly identify at the Brownwood Police Department.

*At 8:57pm, a Brownwood Police officer was called to the 1800 block of 8 ½ Street regarding an assault.  According to police, they arrived at the residence and encountered a standoff.  Police officials said that at one point, the male suspect turned off the lights and pretended not to be home in order to avoid talking with officers.   A negotiator was brought in and after 2 hours, forced entry (with permission from the homeowner) was made by officers into the home due to the need to check on the victim’s welfare.    The man was identified as 26-year-old Michael John Zarate and charged with Robbery, Assault Family Violence Causing Bodily Injury by Strangulation, and Interfere with Emergency Call.

Wednesday, July 7

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 35-year-old Willie Walter Calvin, Jr. for Driving While Intoxicated and an outstanding Brown County warrant.

*Brownwood Police arrested 28-year-old Albert Manuel Zepeda for Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Grade 1 >4g<299g and two outstanding warrants.

All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
