Law Enforcement arrests and reports released Tuesday, July 6, 2010.
Thursday, June 24
*Approximately 2:00am, Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of W. Commerce. According to the report, a male subject who was wearing a g-string was reported to have been exposing himself to customers. An investigation is ongoing for indecent exposure.
Tuesday, June 29
*At 3:12pm a Brownwood Police officer responded to a report of theft of medication from a vehicle. Suspect information was obtained and the investigation is ongoing according to police reports.
Friday, July 2
*Early Police Department arrested 33-year-old Chance Don Schaefer for Aggravated Assault Causing Bodily Injury Family Violence.
*At 10:30am, Brownwood Police were called to a local business for request that a trespass warning be issued to a subject. According to the report, several attempts were made to issue the warning without success.
*At approximately 12:00pm, a Brownwood Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle due to an expired registration. According to the report, after receiving consent to search the vehicle, the driver, identified as 42-year-old Anthony Tawang McKenzie was arrested for Possession of Marijuana less than 2 oz.
*At approximately 1:59am, Brownwood Police were called to the 3600 block of Arrowhead regarding an assault. According to the report a woman had been assaulted but did not want to pursue charges if the suspect would agree to pay for repair or replacement of her cell phone which was damaged in the assault. The suspect did not agree to these terms and now the victim does wish to pursue charges for the assault and criminal mischief.
Saturday, July 3
*Approximately 12:45 am, Brownwood Police Department responded to the BRMC emergency room in reference to an intoxicated subject. Investigation led to the arrest of 25-year-old Reba Buffington on charges of Resisting Arrest and Public Intoxication according to police reports.
*At 3:36am, a Brownwood Police officer was dispatched to the 500 block of W. Commerce in reference to Public Lewdness. According to the report, information obtained from witnesses and the offense is being investigated.
*At 7:53am, Brownwood Police responded to a call of an assault in the 2600 block of Vine St. According to the report, an investigation determined an assault had occurred and that a knife was exhibited during the assault. Subsequently, 23-year-old Carrissa Marine Lattimore was arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
*At 11:39am, Brownwood Police responded to the 1300 block of 13th Street in reference to theft. After speaking with the complainant, it was determined that several items including an Xbox 360 had been stolen from the residence. A suspect has been identified in this incident according to the report.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Department arrested 20-year-old Terry Nathanail Davis for a Prohibited Weapon.
* Brown County Sheriff’s Department arrested 20-year-old Michael Cory Shane Lindsey for Tampering with Physical Evidence and Possession of Marijuana less than 2 oz.
* Brown County Sheriff’s Department arrested 60-year-old Luis Raul Martinez for Driving While License Invalid.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 34-year-old Lloyd Allen Shelton of Bangs for Driving While Intoxicated.
* Brown County Sheriff’s Department arrested 19-year-old Victoria Lynan Thompson for Tampering with Physical Evidence and Possession of Marijuana less than 2 oz.
* Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 22-year-old Kalvin Bryce Tucker for Unlawfully Carrying a Weapon and Possession of Marijuana less than 2 oz.
Sunday, July 4
*At approximately 12:15am, Brownwood Police Department were called to the 2900 block of Avenue D in regard to an out of control and intoxicated male. According to the report, after an investigation was completed, the male who was identified as 29-year-old Timothy Jason Knox was arrested for Assault Causing Bodily Injury Family Violence.
*Approximately 9:37am, Brownwood Police responded to the 1400 block of Austin Avenue in reference to theft. The manager of a local business informed the officer that a woman was caught shoplifting several items from the store the report states. The woman was issued a trespass warning, issued a citation and released.
*Approximately 12:00am, a Brownwood Police officer was flagged down by a female in the 2800 block of US 377S. The police report states that the woman told the officer that she had found a lock and a key ring with several keys on it at a local car wash. The items were given to the officer who placed them in the evidence room as found property.
*At 12:26pm, Brownwood Police responded to the 2600 block of Vine in regards to theft. The complainant advised that while she was incarcerated, her ex-fiancee stole several items from her residence according to the report. Contact with the suspect was attempted several times with no success and a report was filed.
*Approximately 2:44pm, Brownwood Police were called to the 2600 block of Temple Street in reference to a terroristic threat. Upon arrival, officers were informed that a male subject had made several violent threats toward a female who was on scene the report states. The victim stated that she wished to pursue charges for the threats.
*According to the report, at 10:30pm Brownwood Police officer conducted a routine traffic stop for failure to maintain single lane, which led to the arrest of the driver identified as 30-year-old Joshua Lee Dean for Driving While Intoxicated.
Monday, July 5
*Approximately 12:45am, a Brownwood Police officer attempted pedestrian stop on two subjects. The report states that both subjects ran in an attempt to evade the officer. One was apprehended and placed under arrest. A positive identification was obtained on the second subject and a warrant for his arrest will be sought according to the report.
*At 2:22am Brownwood Police were called to the 2600 block of Cleburne in reference to suspicious activity. After an investigation was completed, a report was generated for criminal attempt of a burglary of a habitation. At the time of the report, no arrests had been made.
* Brownwood Police Department arrested 24-year-old Austin Craig Griffin for Possession of Marijuana less than 2 oz.
* Brown County Sheriff’s Department arrested 18-year-old Abel Leal for Possession of Marijuana less than 2 oz.
*At 2:28pm, a Brownwood Police officer conducted a traffic stop for a defective brake light. The driver was identified as 20-year-old Michael Cory Shane Lindsey. When asked if he had any marijuana or illegal drugs in his possession, he told the officer that he had marijuana in his back pocket according to the report. Lindsey was then arrested for Possession of Marijuana less than 2 oz and given a written warning for the defective equipment.
* Brown County Sheriff’s Department arrested 19-year-old Daniel Ray Ortega for Possession of Marijuana less than 2 oz.
* Brown County Sheriff’s Department arrested 21-year-old John Mark Pool, Jr. for Possession of Marijuana less than 2 oz.
*Approximately 9:48, Brownwood Police received a report that a laptop had been stolen from a residence in the 2300 block of 10th Street. The victim stated that the theft had occurred while she was moving her belongings according to the report. Residents in the household along with friends began identifying suspects which led officers to another residence. Suspects were identified as juveniles. The computer was recovered and the juvenile suspects were taken into custody and released to Juvenile Probation.
*At 10:13pm, Brownwood Police were called to the 600 block of W. Commerce regarding theft. According to the report, a suspect was located and further investigation revealed insufficient information to prosecute for the theft; however, the suspect gave false information about his identifying information. Further investigation revealed he was a fugitive. 31-year-old Nickolus Paul Scott was then arrested for Failure to Identify as a Fugitive and for the outstanding Brown County warrant.
*Approximately 11:21pm, Brownwood Police Department received a report from a complainant that 21-year-old Joseph William Wilder had come into his residence and assaulted him. This information led to the arrest of Wilder for Burglary of a Habitation with Intent to Commit Assault, Injury to Disabled with Intent to Cause Bodily Injury and Possession of a Dangerous Drug.
*At 11:33pm, Brownwood Police were called to the 600 block of Avenue G. According to the report, a man stated that he arrived home to find his front door open. The report states that nothing appeared to be missing; however a report was filed in case something was later discovered as stolen.
All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
