Monday, July 28
*6:22 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 3700 block of Savoy Drive regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, several vehicles had been scratched with a sharp object. The investigation is ongoing, the report states.
Tuesday, July 29
*8:40 AM – Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of animal cruelty at a property on County Road 372. A deputy was dispatched and found a male horse, which was very thin with hip and rib bones showing, standing at a gate on the property.
*10:16 AM – Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of fraudulent use of identifying information. According to the report, a female stated that someone had used her identity to obtain a Target Department Store Credit Card without her permission.
*11:06 AM – Brown County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a residence on Bayside Drive in May regarding an altercation which was reported to be in progress. According to the report, a female subject stated that a male subject had assaulted her and that she had used a “stun gun” to defend herself. She also alleged that another female had threatened to kill her and had displayed a knife, the report states.*7:00 PM – Brownwood Police received a report of a burglary of a habitation at a residence on Avenue D. According to the report, the complainant stated that several items (valued at $400) were stolen from the residence and a storage building. Suspects were named and the complainant wished to pursue criminal charges, the report states.
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding on Hwy 183N. Occupants of the vehicle were identified as (driver) 46-year-old Anthony Tawang McKenzie and (passenger) 47-year-old Janetha Kaye Brooks, both of Brownwood, the report states. McKenzie gave the deputy consent to search the vehicle and a large clear baggy of marijuana was located which contained 29.5 grams of marijuana without packaging, according to the report. Both McKenzie and Brooks were charged with possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 40-year-old Hagen West Baker of Brownwood on warrants related to driving while intoxicated with child and theft (Ward County).
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 29-year-old Danielle Elaine Eppard of Cross Plains on charges of public intoxication and possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.
