Monday, July 23

*9:41am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Belle Plain, New Beginnings Pentecostal Church of God, regarding an air conditioning unit being struck by an unknown vehicle at an unknown time.   According to the report, the damage was noted about 6:00pm the night before.

Wednesday, July 25

*6:05pm-Brownwood Police were called to 1300 Avenue B regarding a hit and run.  According to the report, the homeowner advised that a vehicle drove through their yard, hit their residence and left the scene.  Minimal damage to the residence was found, the report states.

Thursday, July 26

*7:42pm-A Brownwood Police officer made a traffic stop in the area of Beaver and Bailey Streets on a vehicle for an expired motor vehicle inspection sticker.  According to the report, investigation led to the discovery of three hydrocodone pills for which the driver did not have a prescription.  The pills were seized and secured as evidence at the Brownwood Police Department.

*10:29pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 4500 block of Delwood Drive regarding an unwanted person.  According to the report, the suspect was beating on the back windows of the residence and threatening to kill the complainant’s boyfriend.  Upon the officer’s arrival, the suspect, identified as 39-year-old Oscar Blake Yancy, Jr., was located in the complainant’s backyard and was placed under arrest for Terroristic Threat and Resisting Arrest, according to reports.

Friday, July 27

*9:57am-Brownwood Police responded to the 1900 block of Avenue E regarding the burglary of a vehicle.  According to the report, the complainant stated that an unknown suspect stole several items from her vehicle during the night.  The incident is pending further investigation, the report states.

*12:31pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1100 block of Holcomb Street regarding an assault.  According to the report, the complainant did not wish to pursue charges for the assault; however he did wish for a criminal trespass warning be issued to the suspect.

*2:03pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1000 block Avenue B, Coggin Elementary School, regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, five window panes were broken out sometime during the night.

*4:11pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1900 block of 7th Street regarding theft.   According to the report, the complainant advised that around 8:00pm on July 18th, she had $200 in cash and her Texas driver’s license stolen.  The complainant’s license was mailed back to her on July 20th via the US Postal Service after the complainant posted a request for the license back on Facebook, the report states.  The incident is pending further investigation according to the report.

*4:48pm-Brownwood Police were called to the area of Avenue B and Durham Street regarding a suspicious person with a gun.  According to the report, the officer made contact with two subjects upon his arrival.  During the investigation, three juveniles were located in the house and no gun was found.  All three juveniles were released to the care, custody and control of their parents.  One juvenile was issued two citations.

*5:36pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of Milton regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that a 1-year-old pit bull was stolen from the complainant’s backyard.

*5:53pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1300 block of Avenue I regarding a civil disturbance.  According to the report, a criminal trespass warning was issued to one of the subjects involved in the dispute.

*6:35pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 900 block of N. Fisk Avenue regarding a hit and run accident.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her vehicle was struck while parked in the lot behind Schlotzsky’s.

*8:29pm-Brownwood Police responded to the 3500 block of Rhodes Road regarding the burglary of a habitation.  According to the report, an investigation showed that the subject had several items of jewelry missing from her apartment.  There was no forced entry or known suspect, the report states.

*9:00pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 400-500 block of Bailey Street regarding a female chasing after a male with a knife, according to police reports.  The investigation led to the arrest of 53-year-old Ennis Mae Williams for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

*11:20pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3300 block of 1st Street regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, the complainant’s boyfriend had his vehicle severely damaged when it was keyed extensively while parked at her house.  The suspect is believed to be the complainant’s ex-husband and the investigation is ongoing, the report states.

*11:45pm-Brownwood Police conducted a traffic stop in the 1000 block of W. Commerce for a defective tail  lamp.  The driver of the vehicle, 33-year-old Karen Lynn Thomas, was arrested for Driving While License Invalid with Previous Convictions.

Saturday, July 28

*1:06am-Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 1400 block of Avenue E .  According to the report, investigation led to the arrest of the driver, 28-year-old Jason Dewarren Degal, for Driving While License Invalid.

*3:58am-Brownwood Police responded to the 1000 block of Lackey Street regarding a prowler.  According to the report, a criminal trespass warning was issued to an individual at the request of the homeowner.

*4:59am-Brownwood Police were called to the 600 block of W. Commerce, Stripes, regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that a male subject stole two 20-packs of beer from the convenience store.

*7:32am-Brownwood Police were called to the 2800 block of 14th Street regarding a burglary.   According to the report, the reporting party advised that five storage units had been broken into.  At the time of the report, the officer was able to contact 3 of the 5 owners of the storage units and found only one item to be missing, the report states.    It was unsure if the other two owners were missing any property from their storage units, according to police.

*7:34am-Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center regarding the theft of a motor vehicle.  According to the report, the vehicle was stolen during the night.  Later the next day, the vehicle was recovered and returned to the owner, the report states.  Suspects in the incident have been identified according to police.

*1:01pm-Brownwood Police met with a complainant regarding the burglary of a vehicle in the 2000 block of Slayden Street.  Possible suspects have been identified, the report states.

*4:07pm-Brown County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of an assault outside the city limits of Brownwood.  According to the report, the complainant stated that a male suspect had grabbed her by the forearm and caused her to fall.  The incident was reported to have been caused over an argument between the elderly woman and her daughter over belongings, the report states.   46-year-old Galen Jay Harris got involved and tried to separate the two which resulted in his injuring the elderly woman, according to the report.  Harris was arrested and charged with Injury to the Elderly Criminal Negligence due to the injuries the elderly woman sustained and to prevent further violence from occurring, reports state.

*7:34pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1700 block of Avenue L, the Boys and Girls Club, regarding a burglary.  According to the report, the key holder advised that he had already checked the outside of the building and found no open doors or windows.  At 7:34pm, the key holder returned to the building and located a juvenile male hiding in the game room.  The juvenile was taken into custody and transported to the Juvenile Detention Center.

*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested Dustin Shaw of Orange, Texas for Driving While Intoxicated 3rd or More and Possession of Marijuana less than 2 ounces.

Sunday, July 29

*11:34pm-Brownwood Police met with an individual at the Law Enforcement Center who wished to pursue theft charges.  An investigation is underway pending the complainant’s bank statements.

*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 25-year-old Maggie Coy for Driving While Intoxicated.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 41-year-old William Malon James for Public Intoxication.

*Brownwood Police arrested 29-year-old Lonny Eugene Robbins III for Failure to Identify Fugitive, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia,  Public Intoxication, and for an outstanding warrant.
