LECSmBrownwood Police received several reports of theft over the weekend, including four flags, which were stolen from homes in Brownwood.  During the overnight hours of Friday or early Saturday morning, two U.S. flags were stolen from homes on 2nd Street and Avenue A, along with a theft of a MIA/POW (Missing In Action/Prisoner of War) flag from a home on Oak Trail on Saturday night and a U.S. Marine Corps flag from a home on Good Shepherd Friday night.  Anyone with information regarding the theft of these flags is asked to contact the Brownwood Police Department at 325-646-2525.

The following are other unrelated law enforcement arrests and reports released Monday, July 27, 2015.

Friday, July 24

*1:59 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop for a defective brake lamp.  According to the report, during the stop, nervous behavior was detected from the driver, identified as 53-year-old David Antione Williams of Brownwood, and consent to search the vehicle was requested.  Williams agreed to a consent search which located a glass pipe containing methamphetamine residue, the report states.  This stop led to the arrest of Williams for possession of substance in penalty group 1 in a drug free zone less than 1 gram and driving while license invalid with no proof of insurance.

*9:54 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop at Elm and Temple Street for a moving violation and for the driver not wearing a seatbelt.   The driver, identified as Jacoby Clint Martinez, was found to have a suspended driver’s license with previous convictions, the report states.  Martinez was arrested for driving while license invalid with previous convictions.

*12:10 PM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding a series of forgeries (involving the complainant’s checking account) that began in June.  According to the report, the suspect is not known and an investigation is ongoing.

*4:03 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1600 block of 6th Street regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, the complainant reported that her front screen door window had been broken and it appeared that someone had tried to pry the screen door away from the frame.

*6:17 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1900 block of Calvert Road regarding the theft of a bicycle from the complainant’s property.

*7:32 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a property on North US Hwy regarding an assault.  The complainant stated he had been assaulted by a known suspect who had allegedly struck him in the face several times, choked him, and attempted to stab him with a knife.

*Brownwood Police arrested 37-year-old Regina Yvonne Holmes of Bangs on a warrant related to fraudulent use/possession of identifying information less than 5 greater than 1.  Holmes released on $30,000 bond.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 25-year-old Jacoby Clint Martinez of Brownwood for driving while license invalid with previous conviction.

*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested Jerry Don McCain, Jr. of Abilene on warrants related to a surety withdrawal/harassment and failure to appear.

*30-year-old Andrea Nicole Mendoza of Early turned herself in on a warrant related to possession of a dangerous drug.

*Early Police responded to the 200 block of Live Oak for a domestic disturbance.  According to the report, a female became irate with a male victim and began throwing things at him.  She then grabbed a pair of scissors striking the victim in the stomach, which caused minor cuts and scrapes, the report states.  Witnesses restrained the female until officers arrived.  The female, identified as 56-year-old Sharon Kay Pederson of Early, was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.  Pederson was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bond as of Monday morning.  The victim refused medical treatment, according to police.

*Early Police officers responded to a business in Heartland Mall where it was discovered a counterfeit $10 bill had been passed.  An investigation is ongoing at this time, the report states

*Early Police officers took a report of burglary of motor vehicle in the 100 block of Longhorn where a Yeti cooler was stolen from a pickup bed.

Saturday, July 25

*9:35 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a property on Isham Street in Blanket regarding forgery.   The complainant stated that a known suspect had purchased items at the business with counterfeit money.

*9:47 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Market Place Blvd regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, vandalism involving graffiti to the back wall of a business had occurred.  An investigation is ongoing, the report states.

*10:48 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2400 block of 14th Street regarding the burglary of a vehicle.  According to the report, a Browning 9mm pistol, valued at $450, along with a knife were stolen from the complainant’s vehicle.  An investigation is ongoing, the report states.

*12:04 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of W. Commerce Street regarding the passing of a counterfeit $20 bill at a local restaurant.

*12:46 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2300 block of 14th Street regarding the burglary of a vehicle.  According to the report, the vehicle was broken into and several items including a GPS unit, a charger, and a magazine with ammunition were stolen.  An investigation is ongoing, the report states.

*1:33 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2200 block of Belmeade regarding the theft of solar lighting from the residence.  An investigation is ongoing, the report states.

*4:35 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3000 block of 1st Street regarding an assault.

*6:09 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 400 block of W. Commerce regarding theft.  According to the report, this call led to the arrest of 28-year-old Jerod Cyr of Brownwood for theft greater than $50 less than $500.

*8:34 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Melwood regarding terroristic threat.  According to the report, a subject was allegedly being threatened by a family member and a handgun was involved.

*11:59 PM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 400 block of W. Commerce.  This stop and investigation led to the arrest of 21-year-old Stetson Walls and 22-year-old Clyde Morgan both of Brownwood.  Each was charged with possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 28-year-old Stephanie Flores of Brownwood on warrants related to motion to revoke/theft of property equal or greater than $50 less than $500 and motion to revoke/organized retail theft greater than $50 less than $500.

*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 27-year-old Roy Douglas Gibson for reckless driving.

Sunday, July 26

*12:42 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1900 block of Coggin Avenue regarding disorderly conduct.  According to the report, an investigation determined a burglary was committee with intent to commit an assault.  The victim of the assault wished to have the incident documented, the report states.

* 12:48 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy received a report from a complainant that a known suspect broke into her house located on US 183 South in Early, TX and stole several electronic appliances and also a guitar.

*4:35 PM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the area of Slayden Street and Southside Drive. This stop led to the arrest of 23-year-old Clarence Holland-Lamb of Bangs for driving while license invalid with previous conviction, and no insurance.

*5:02 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a property in the 3000 block of West US Hwy 67 in reference to a criminal mischief.  According to the complainant reported that her husband had dented the rear passenger car door and top of her car with his fist.  This incident occurred when she went to pick up their child from his residence after he had visitation, the report states.  The victim returned home at approximately 5:00 p.m. this date and found her glass front screen door was broken and the wood door behind it was damaged by a large rock from her flower bed near the front door, according to the report.  The victim believes her soon to be ex-husband may have also been responsible for this damage, the report states.

*6:36 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to Riverside Drive regarding an assault.  According to the report, a known subject assaulted the female complainant.

*7:05 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3700 block of Savoy Drive regarding the burglary of a vehicle.  According to the report, an unknown suspect entered his vehicle and removed a chainsaw without his consent.  A possible suspect has been named, the report states.

*7:15 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1800 block of Belle Plain regarding the burglary of coin operated soda and vacuum machines at a local business over the weekend.

*8:15 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the 700 block of Oak Street regarding an assault.  According to the report, the complainant stated that known subjects assaulted him in his own home and stole his beer.

*8:49 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1300 block of Vine Street regarding theft.  An investigation is ongoing, the report states.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 24-year-old Jillian Loretta Clark of Brownwood for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram and possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 45-year-old Shaunna Paige Harmes of Brownwood on two counts of assault causes bodily injury family violence.

*Texas Parks and Wildlife arrested 59-year-old William Scott McDonald of Abilene for boating while intoxicated.

Monday, July 27

*10:17 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2800 block of Glen Cove regarding an unwanted person and an incident of family violence.
