Wednesday, July 24

*9:56 AM – Brownwood Police responded to the 3800 block of U.S. Hwy 377S, Allsup’s, regarding theft.  According to the report, a store employee witnessed the suspect steal a bottle of windshield cleaner from the back area of the store.  The suspect was located by police and confessed to the theft, the report states.  He was issued a citation and a criminal trespass warning for the store property.

*12:39 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 100 block of Looney Street regarding suspicious circumstances.  According to the report, officers received a report from a concerned citizen regarding personal information lying on the ground between Wal-Mart and Home Depot.  Officers located three Texas Drivers’ licenses and numerous credit cards.  The items were collected and turned into the evidence room at the Brownwood Police Department.

* 4:34 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the report of a hit and run.  According to the report, an off-duty peace officer witnessed the suspect, later identified as 18-year-old Jeffery Beck, strike a vehicle at W. Commerce and N. Main Street and then leave the scene without providing his personal information to the other driver.  Beck was followed to the Wal-Mart parking lot, where he was detained until Brownwood Police officers arrived, the report states.  During the investigation, it was discovered that Beck had an active trespass warning for the Wal-Mart property, according to the report.   Contact was made with the owner of the victim vehicle who wished to pursue charges against Beck, the report states.  Beck was arrested and charged with fleeing scene of accident equal or greater than $200 and criminal trespass.

*52-year-old Bennetta Irene Hernandez turned herself in on a warrant related to theft of property equal or greater than $20 less than $500 by check.

*18-year-old Nick Hogue turned himself in on a warrant related to no driver’s license.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 43-year-old Aaron Ray Pippin on warrants related to two counts of failure to appear/theft of property equal or greater than $50 less than $500.  Pippin is being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of bonds totaling $10,000.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 23-year-old Jessica Bonnie Wheat on a probation violation.

Thursday, July 25

*11:38 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Terrace Drive regarding the burglary of a habitation.  According to the report, sometime between July 1st and July 24th (while the complainant and his family were in Mexico) an unknown suspect broke into his residence.  Stolen during the burglary were two televisions and one Wii game system, valued at $844.00.*3:56 PM – Brown County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a property on FM 2940 regarding the theft of a homemade utility trailer.  According to the report, the trailer was stolen off of a ranch sometime between July 15th and July 25th. The trailer is made from the bed of a 1930s era pickup and has a hydraulic lift with a single axle and dual wheels.

*6:53 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Vincent Street regarding theft.

*6:22 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 300 block of N. Main Street, Kroger, regarding the burglary of a vehicle.   According to the report, a Dallas Cowboys satchel containing keys, credit cards and a checkbook were taken from the vehicle, along with a handheld printer.

*6:39 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the 1000 block of Fisk Avenue regarding the burglary of a vehicle.  The complainant stated that her purse containing several personal items was stolen from her vehicle, the report states.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 48-year-old Johnny Bachman of Comanche on a warrant related to an indictment for unlawful possession of a firearm.

*Brownwood City Marshal arrested 26-year-old Sarah Mehlman of Coleman for failure to appear/possession of a controlled substance.  Mehlman is being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of $30,000.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 40-year-old Shelly Rene Odom for fraudulent use/possession of identifying information.

Friday, July 26

*While looking for a female with outstanding warrants, the residence of 28-year-old Megan George of Early was searched, resulting in George’s arrest for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 greater than 200 grams less than 400 grams.  According to the report, George allowed deputies to come into the house to search for the female, and while searching the bedroom where George was staying, one deputy observed a clear glass jar with two small baggies and a greenish colored glass pipe in it along with liquid.    The deputy observed George put something next to the bed where she was sitting, the report states.  It was determined that she had tried to hide and/or destroy the evidence by placing it into a jar with a liquid substance, which tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine, according to the report.  George was additionally charged with tamper/fabricate physical evidence.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of the theft of a checkbook from a complainant’s residence on County Road 550.  According to the report, at least 9 checks totaling $731.23 had been forged and passed from the account, the report states.  Three checks have not been accounted for, according to the report.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 50-year-old Terry Len Beason on an indictment for driving while intoxicated 3rd or more.  Beason is being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of $25,000.

*Early Police arrested 28-year-old Kennith Holmes of Early for driving while intoxicated 2nd.

*Early Police arrested 41-year-old Erik Jordan for driving while intoxicated.

*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 33-year-old Matthew J. Lucas of Santa Anna on warrants related to no fishing license, violate promise to appear, no PFD (boat), and hunting in closed season Area A (riverbed), failure to appear, no hunting license, and no hunter’s safety course.
