Thursday, July 21
*7:10 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 700 block of W. Commerce Street regarding theft.
Friday, July 22
*5:11 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy arrived at Belfast Drive in Brownwood, TX in regards to a welfare check. According to the report, the Veterans’ Crisis Line had reported 43-year-old Timothy Allen French of Brownwood had called stating he was homicidal and mad at a relative. The deputy spoke to the victim who stated while verbally arguing with French, he had grabbed a knife, put it to her throat and had slapped her. French was arrested for aggravated assault date/family/house member with weapon and was transported to the Brown County Jail and released to the jail staff.
*8:30 AM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding the burglary of a vehicle. According to the report, the complainant reported that a firearm valued at $700 had been stolen from inside the vehicle.
*8:47 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Bowie Circle regarding a domestic disturbance. This call led to the arrest of 36-year-old Mandy Dybas of Brownwood for assault causes bodily injury family violence, the report states.*2:52 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the 2000 block of 8th Street regarding a hit and run accident. According to the report, sometime during the day, someone had struck the complainant’s vehicle and left the scene. An investigation is ongoing, the report states.
*5:38 PM – Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of theft. According to the report, the complainant stated that his Xbox One had been stolen from a friend’s residence.
*9:30 PM – Brown County Sheriff’s Office issued a criminal trespass warning to a male subject for an address on CR 134.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of three black cows and one black calf that were missing from a property located in the 11000 block of US 183 South.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 34-year-old Diana Balderas of Early, Texas on a Hale County warrant related to motion to revoke/theft by check.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 27-year-old Ashley Lillian Sharpe of Brownwood on a warrant related to a surety withdrawal/possession of a controlled substance.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 55-year-old Tommy Wesley Wade of Zephyr on a warrant related to cruelty to non-livestock animals.
*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 27-year-old Brittany Nicole Wells of Brownwood on a warrant related to driving while license invalid.
Saturday, July 23
*3:39 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 400 block of W. Commerce regarding a theft in progress. According to the report, a male subject attempted to shoplift lip rings, a gun holster, a blue tooth speaker, and a chocolate doughnut from the business. The male, identified as 22-year-old Dustin Cates Baker of Brownwood, was located and arrested on sight for warrants, criminal trespass, theft and public intoxication.
*4:09 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to an address on Coggin Avenue regarding a theft which had happened in the county. According to the report, the deputy met with the victim and attempted to locate the property at an address that was provided by the victim.
*4:12 PM – Brownwood Police were called to a domestic disturbance in the 500 block of W. Commerce Street. According to the report, the complainant advised that her ex-boyfriend jumped on the hood and front window of her vehicle causing damage to the front window. It was also determined that a young child was in the vehicle at the time of the incident.
*6:57 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2000 block of 13th Street regarding theft. According to the report, two Stihl weed eaters were stolen from the property.
*8:29 PM – Brown County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a property on County Road 305 in Zephyr in reference to a domestic disturbance. According to the report, dispatch advised there were angry and irate parties at the location and that a weapon might have been involved. Dispatch further advised one half of the incident had left the scene in a blue and silver Ford Ranger pick-up. The vehicle was located on Hwy 183 South by an Early police officer Sheedy and a deputy arrived at the location and made contact with three subjects involved, the report states. Two suspects were identified, according to the deputy’s report.
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation (the top brake light being out) on Southside Drive at Southside Village, which is within 1000 feet of the Brownwood Independent School District Administration Building. According to the report, this stop led to the discovery that the driver, identified as 34-year-old Andrew Alejos Gutierrez of Brownwood, had two outstanding warrants. Gutierrez was placed under arrest and during the inventory of the vehicle, a glass pipe with residue, a small clears baggy with a white crystallized substance, and another small clear baggy with a trace amount of methamphetamine, the report states. Gutierrez was additionally charged with possession of controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram in a drug free zone.
*27-year-old Lacey Diane Clary of Sidney, Texas turned herself in on a Tarrant County Warrant for driving while intoxicated.
*Early Police arrested 29-year-old Richard Cruz Garcia of Merkel, Texas for driving while license invalid and on warrants related to driving while license invalid and failure to maintain financial responsibility.
*Brownwood Police arrested 26-year-old Steven Eric Holcomb of Brownwood on a warrant related to motion to adjudicate/possession of a dangerous drug.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 43-year-old Michael Maldonado of Houston for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.
Sunday, July 24
*1:15 AM – An Early Police officer was attempting to stop a vehicle in the 900 block of Early Blvd. when she was almost struck by a black Ford Focus driving erratically. According to the report, the officer abandoned the first traffic stop and pursued the Ford Focus, making a traffic stop at Garmon Drive and Lucas Drive. After making contact with the driver, a field sobriety test was performed, the report states. The driver, identified as 34-year-old Sarah Inez Irvin of Tallapoosa, Georgia, was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
*10:41 AM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 2100 block of Belmeade Street. According to the report, during the stop, the officer observed marijuana laying on the driver’s stomach and a narcotics investigation ensued. After an investigation, the driver, identified as 37-year-old Cedric Hogg was arrested for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces and driving while license invalid with previous convictions, according to the report. The passenger, 27-year-old Shanecia Williams of Brownwood was arrested for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces, the report states. Once Hogg arrived at the Brown County Jail, a strip search was conducted by jail staff which discovered Hogg had concealed a controlled substance in his pants, according to the officer’s report. Hogg tried to destroy the evidence by eating it; however, the jailer and the officer were able to restrain Hogg to stop him from destroying the evidence, the report states. Hogg was additionally charged with prohibited substance/item correctional facility and tamper/fabricate physical evidence with intent to impair.
*12:50 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3900 block of 3rd Street regarding a hit and run accident. According to the report, an unknown vehicle had struck the complainant’s vehicle during the night. A female subject stated that she had observed a male subject who owed her money and that she had confronted him at one business and then followed him to another, the report states. The female further explained that while following the male, she was assaulted by a female subject and threatened by the female’s husband that were not involved with the incident but that were friends with the male who owed her money, the report states. The complainant wished to pursue charges against both of these subjects, according to the report.
*3:04 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of E. Commerce Street regarding a civil matter which had turned physical.
*4:59 PM – Brownwood Police received a report of the violation of an emergency protective order by the complainant’s ex-boyfriend. An investigation is ongoing, the report states.
*7:35 PM – Brownwood Police were called to Brownwood Regional Medical Center regarding child abuse/neglect. According to the report, Child Protective Services were contacted to further investigate.
*9:02 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2200 block of Belmeade Street regarding the burglary of a vehicle. According to the report, a wallet containing personal identification cards, and a debit/credit card was stolen from the vehicle.
*10:03 PM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 2200 block of Vine Street regarding failure to signal a left turn. According to the report, this stop led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 49-year-old Gary Ray Harris of Brownwood, for driving while intoxicated. Harris was transported to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center for a blood draw.
*11:30 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1200 block of Avenue G regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, the disturbance was settled by separation and MHMR was contacted for a person involved in the disturbance.
*Early Police officers responded to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center emergency room regarding the accidental discharge of a firearm which struck a man in the hand. According to the report, the incident was investigated and determined to be accidental. The 38-year-old male was treated at BRMC, according to the report. No further investigation will be performed and no charges are to be filed, according to law enforcement.
*A Texas Parks and Wildlife game warden arrested 39-year-old Mark Neal Tyler of Brownwood for driving while intoxicated.
