Monday, July 22
*8:39 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2400 block of Bonita Street regarding the burglary of a vehicle, multiple items were taken.
*9:44 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2100 block of 9th Street regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, the window of the door of a vehicle was broken out.
*11:23 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2100 block of 7th Street regarding the burglary of a vehicle. According to the report, the complainant stated that between 9:30 PM and 9:30 AM this date, an unknown subject damaged the windows to two of the complainant’s vehicles. The complainant advised that her purse and matching wallet were taken from one of the vehicles.
*12:11 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 600 block of N. Fisk Avenue regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, the victim advised that between the hours of 7:00 AM and 12:00 PM this date, someone broke the back right storage compartment window of her 2005 Suburban.
*1:22 PM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding the sexual assault of a 12-year-old child. The incident is being investigated according to police.
*1:10 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1900 block of Brooke Lane regarding the burglary of a vehicle. According to the report, between midnight and 1:00 PM on this date, a window of the complainant’s vehicle had been broken and numerous items stolen from inside.*1:20 PM – Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of theft from the complainant’s company truck. According to the report, the truck had been broken down when items were removed from it. A possible suspect was named, the report states.
*2:28 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1400 block of Austin Avenue regarding the burglary of a vehicle. According to the report, while the complainant was in the store, an unknown subject entered her vehicle and stole numerous items. There were no suspects at the time of the report.
*3:24 PM – Brown County Sheriff’s Office was called to a residence on County Road 351 in Blanket regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, the complainant stated that someone has been “messing with his mailbox.”
*11:25 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle for continuous use of a blinker. The driver of the vehicle accelerated and a vehicle pursuit was initiated, the report states. The deputy located the vehicle at the intersection of Coleman County roads 107 and 108 and later located the suspect, identified as 61-year-old Benito Diaz Vasquez, Sr. of Santa Anna. Vasquez was taken into custody and during a search incident to arrest, Diaz was found to be in possession of 0.5 grams of methamphetamine, 11 hydrocodone pills, 3.3 grams of marijuana, and numerous paraphernalia commonly associated with the delivery of illegal narcotics (glass pipes, syringes, and digital scales), according to the report. Diaz was charged with manufacture delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 1 equal or greater than 4 grams less than 200 grams, evading arrest/detention with vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces, and on a warrant related to a parole violation.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of the theft of a chain saw from the back of a complainant’s pickup over the weekend.
Tuesday, July 23
*10:52 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3400 block of Vincent Street regarding theft. According to the report, the complainant stated that approximately $5,000 in tools, yard items and miscellaneous household items were taken from his shed. No suspect information was available at the time of the report.
*11:09 AM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding identity theft.
*9:10 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1300 block of 8th Street regarding the burglary of a habitation. According to the report, the complainant stated that three 15,000 BTU window units were stolen from his rent house along with his children’s electric scooter.
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to the Windmill Road in May regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, an assault had occurred between two female family members.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 26-year-old Jared Lynn Cook of Odessa on an indictment for motion to revoke/possession of a controlled substance.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 51-year-old Theresa Lorraine Huckaby on a warrant for motion to adjudicate/possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.
*Bangs Police arrested 43-year-old Michael Pearson for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces and failure to identify giving false/fictions information, and on an Austin, Texas warrant for theft.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 54-year-old Donna Earlene Reid of Abilene on a Brown County warrant related to motion to revoke/theft of property equal or greater than $20 less than $500 by check and a Comanche County warrant for theft by check.
Wednesday, July 24
*3:26 AM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 2800 block of US Hwy 377 South regarding failure to signal a turn. According to the report, both the driver and the passenger of the vehicle were found to be intoxicated. The driver, identified as 42-year-old Dewey Tagnoscioli Bowers, was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Bowers was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance and was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance penalty group 3 less than 28 grams. After not being able to find a sober individual to take custody of the passenger, identified as 42-year-old Cynthia Clayton, she too was arrested for public intoxication.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 33-year-old Bridget King of Zephyr for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram in a drug free zone, possession of a controlled substance penalty group 3 less than 28 grams in a drug free zone, and possession of marijuana equal or less than 2 ounces in a drug free zone.
