Thursday, June 28

*5:20pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Market Place Blvd, Home Depot, regarding an employee being questioned about internal theft.  According to the report, the operations manager stated that an internal investigation had determined an employee had stolen $890 from the register that he was assigned to work over the course of two days.  The employee was terminated and Home Depot desires criminal prosecution, the report states.

*8:12pm-Brownwood Police received a report of theft from a residence in the 2700 block of Coggin Avenue.  According to the report, the complainant stated that some unknown subject stole several items of miscellaneous gold and silver jewelry from her bedroom.

*9:25pm-Brownwood Police responded to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center emergency room regarding an animal bite.  According to the report, the victim stated that she was bitten on the left leg by her friend’s small dog but did not wish to pursue charges.  The owner of the dog was contacted and advised to keep the dog secure for quarantine measures.

Friday, June 29

*10:43am-Brownwood Police were called to the 1600 block of Broadmoor Drive regarding a “scam.”  According to the report, officers learned that the complainant had sent money to a subject who claimed to be from a title company regarding a time share she owns.  The subject provided fraudulent information to the complainant in order to gain the money and does not appear to truly work for the title company, the report states.

*11:44am-Brownwood Police were called to the 1300 block of Cottage Street regarding a suspicious bottle.  According to the report, the complainant stated that she had heard a “bang” during the night and found two bottles that appeared to have exploded and burnt a portion of their grass.

*12:19pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 900 block of Avenue B, the Family Services Center, regarding a suspicious person.  According to the report, a male subject was reported to be standing in the lobby of the business pacing back and forth and it appeared that he had been in some type of altercation.  Investigation revealed that a male and female had been involved in a physical altercation at a nearby apartment over alleged infidelity in the relationship, the report states.  The male subject had visible minor injuries and after speaking with both parties, the female identified as 33-year-old Carmen DeLeon was arrested for Assault with Injury Family Violence.

*12:58pm-Brown County Sheriff’s office along with a DPS trooper conducted a follow up at a residence in the 500 block of Palmer in Bangs.  While at that location, a glass smoking pipe that field tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine was found, according to the report.   27-year-old Justin Leigh Morris of Bangs was arrested and charged with possession of controlled substance.

*3:15pm – Brown County Sheriff’s office responded to a report of burglary of a storage building in the 8000 block of CR 550.  The complainant told the deputy that sometime between May 29 and the current date, an unknown suspect cut the lock on a storage building in their backyard and took several hundred dollars worth of items.

*3:56pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1600 block of Coggin Avenue regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, an officer met with an office employee of the business who stated that a male employee had come in as usual and  picked up one of their service vans and proceeded to fuel it up at a local store before beginning to work.  After attempting to contact the employee after discovering that he had not responded to any of the service calls, the employee travelled to the employee’s residence where she found him allegedly “high” on some type of drug.  She then retrieved the van, which she discovered had been destroyed inside, reporting the employee had removed the door seal, floor panel and part of the dash which were all lying on the front passenger seat, the report states.  The office employee stated that she was unsure if the male employee’s actions had caused any damage to the removed parts and would have Brownwood Ford look at the vehicle according to the report.  The owner of the business was contacted, who instructed her to contact police, the report states.

*10:44pm-Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 900 block of Carey Street for speeding.  The driver of the vehicle, identified as 41-year-old Steven Hobbs, was arrested for Driving While License Invalid with Previous Convictions.

Saturday, June 30

*9:30am-Brown County Sheriff’s office met with a subject requesting a criminal trespass warning for a home on County Road 147.   The complainant said that an unwanted subject would not leave the residence.

*4:00pm-Brown County Sheriff’s office responded to a call of a family assault in the 2800 block of County Road 381.  The deputy made contact with a woman at the location who was visibly scared, but stated that she was okay and didn’t want to press charges against her husband.   The deputy documented the incident and offered her the victim’s assistance program sheet.

*6:07pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1400 block of Magnolia Street regarding a hit and run accident.   According to the report, a vehicle struck a trailer which was parked at a residence and then fled the area.  Witnesses provided suspect and vehicle information and a short time later the driver of the vehicle was located and cited for fleeing the scene and no driver’s license.

*11:59pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 2200 block of Avenue B regarding a domestic disturbance.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the male subject appeared to be intoxicated and was hitting a female subject who was sitting inside of a vehicle.  The male half of the disturbance, identified as 22-year-old Travis Hoover, was located in the 2200 block of Avenue B; the female half of the disturbance left prior to officers’ arrival but spoke with police later.  After investigation, it was found that during the argument, the Hoover pushed the female and as the female had attempted to leave with her children, Hoover had attempted to carry one of the children back into the residence and had fallen on the steps with the child, the report states.  There was no serious injury to the child; however Hoover was arrested for Assault-Offensive Touch Family Member and Injury to a Child.

*Brown County Sheriff’s office responded to a report of criminal mischief in the 5100 block of CR 147.  Damage was discovered to a laptop computer, guitar, and mattress in the complainant’s home.  A suspect has been identified.

Sunday, July 1

*4:32am-Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of E. Commerce, Budget Inn, regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, a female kicked the plate glass window on the front of the business and destroyed it.  There was no suspect information at the time of the report and the investigation is ongoing.

*7:15am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 100 block of C. C. Woodson Drive, EZ Mart, regarding theft.  According to the report, around 9:24pm on June 30th, a male had taken a tattoo magazine from the rack and left without paying for it.

*1:04pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1600 block of 1st Street regarding a juvenile problem.    During the call, it was found that a juvenile had physically assaulted her mother and that she had assaulted her with a knife in the early part of last week, according to the report.  The female juvenile was arrested for Assault with Injury Family Violence and was taken to the Brownwood Police Department where she was released to the custody of staff of the Juvenile Detention Center.

*1:15pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1800 block of 7th Street regarding the burglary of a vehicle.  According to the report, overnight someone broke the rear window of his vehicle and stole a bag of tools while the vehicle was parked in the driveway of the home.  The approximate value of the tools stolen was estimated at $300.

*2:42pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 3300 block of Stephen F. Austin regarding a civil matter.    According to the report, the complainant was attempting to locate his child for a court ordered visitation and was unable to locate the child’s mother who had obviously moved.  The charge of interfering with child custody was filed against the suspect.

*7:50pm-Brown County Sheriff’s office responded to a burglary of a building at Victory Life Church.  The complainant reported that someone stole property out of a storage container located behind the church.  Witnesses described a possible suspect vehicle.

*8:03am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 600 block of N. Center Avenue regarding theft.  According to the report, a male subject had possibly stolen merchandise and had left the area in a black vehicle.  The vehicle was located and 22-year-old Stevie Rose was arrested for theft greater than $50 less than $500.

*9:00pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 600 block of 7th Street regarding a domestic disturbance.  According to the report, several people were observed in the road when the officer arrived, one of which, a female was sitting inside of a vehicle hunched over.   The female reported to have been struck by 25-year-old Tiffany Daniel, and investigation determined that she had been assaulted and was visibly injured according to the report.  The victim was transported to the emergency room by Guardian EMS and Daniel was arrested for Assault Causes Bodily Injury Family Violence.

*9:18pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 3700 block of Savoy Drive regarding an assault.  According to the report, the call led to the arrest of 44-year-old Tina Louise Rabren for Assault with Injury Family Violence.

*Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle at the intersection of County Road 550 and 551.  As a result of the stop, 32-year-old Rocky Martinez was arrested for driving while license invalid.

All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
