Sunday, June 25

*Brownwood Police responded to the 100 block of S. Greenleaf in regard to a hit and run.  No suspect information was available.

Monday, June 26

*Brownwood Police received a report of a hit and run in the 1700 block of Main Street.  According to the report, a truck hit the victim’s truck and fled the scene.  No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

Tuesday, June 29

*At approximately 9:00pm, Brownwood Police responded to a report of criminal mischief in the 1300 block of 13th Street.

Wednesday, June 30

*Approximately 12:16, Brownwood Police were called to Brookshire’s regarding a theft.  According to the report officers were told by witnesses that a juvenile had stolen a store item.  The value of the item was given to the officer and the subject was issued a citation for theft less than $50 and given a criminal trespass warning.

*At approximately 1:30pm, Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 200 block of W. Austin in regard to a report of theft.  According to the report the juvenile suspect was located and issued two citations and a criminal trespass warning.

*At 8:24pm, Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of Terrace regarding suspicious circumstances.  According to the report, upon arriving and conducting an interview, officers determined that a domestic violence offense had occurred.  Due to the female subject having injuries which led to her being transported to the emergency room, no arrests were made at the time of the report.

*Brownwood Police received a report of fraud.   According to the report, the victim stated that his bank account had been used without his permission.

Thursday, July 1

* Early Police arrested 50-year-old Joe Howard Isom for Assault Causing Bodily Injury Family Violence.

*At 7:32am Brownwood Police were called to the 1100 block of 3rd Street regarding a report of criminal mischief.  Officers found damage to paint of the complainant’s vehicle according to the report.

*Approximately 8:34am, Brownwood Police responded to a report of Criminal Mischief at 2100 Slayden, Brownwood High School.  According to the report an exterior door to the kitchen of the cafeteria was damaged.

*Approximately 3:30pm, Brownwood Police were dispatched to Brookshire’s regarding a theft.  Officers interviewed the suspects and store employees.  A citation for theft of less than $50 and a criminal trespass warning was issued.

*At 3:50pm, Brownwood Police responded to a call of a Disturbance which resulted in a subject being issued a trespass warning for a home in the 1500 block of 7th Street.

Friday, July 2

*A Brownwood Police officer was called regarding a disturbance in the 600 block of Avenue C and noted a subject, later identified as 22-year-old Melvin Batista, walking down the street with a beer in his hand.  Batista was taken into custody after it was determined that he was intoxicated the report states.  Batista was charged with Public Intoxication.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 53-year-old Dale Wayne Holleman who was charged with Retaliation; Possession of Marijuana <2oz. and Fail to Identify.

* At 1:26am, Brownwood Police were notified that a vehicle was being driven by a subject that was possibly intoxicated.  An officer intercepted and followed the suspect and observed three traffic violations and a traffic stop was initiated.  After making contact with the driver, who was identified as 30-year-old Johnny Dean Scaff, Jr., the officer noted the smell of alcohol on his breath along with the smell of marijuana on his clothing the police report states.  Scaff admitted drinking four beers during that day but claimed he had not smoked anything or taken any medication.  Standard field sobriety tests were performed which led to Scaff’s arrest for Driving While Intoxicated, 2nd.  After a search of Scaff, due to this arrest, a baggie containing what Scaff admitted was marijuana was found in his pocket the report states.  Scaff was then charged additionally with Possession of Marijuana <2 oz.  Scaff denied consent for a blood draw to confirm his intoxication and a warrant was obtained.  He was then transported to BRMC where a blood sample was obtained, then transported to the Brown County Jail.

All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
