Wednesday, July 13

*8:54pm-Brownwood Police responded to the 1800 block of 10th Street regarding criminal mischief.  The complainant stated that a known suspect came to his house and threatened to assault him.  After the suspect left, he noticed the right front tire of his pickup had been slashed.  The complainant wished to pursue charges for criminal mischief and terroristic threat.

Sunday, July 17

*3:26pm-Brownwood Police were called to 401 W. Commerce regarding a hit and run in the Wal-Mart parking lot.  Two witnesses saw the accident and reported it to Wal-Mart employees who then reported it to police.  Witnesses were able to obtain a license plate number from the vehicle.  A suspect was located and charges are expected to be filed.

Monday, July 18

*10:30am-Bronwwood Police were dispatched to a report of fraud at 510 W. Commerce, Ace America’s Cash Express.   A customer attempted to pass a check for $3994.00 that was verified as a fraudulent check.

*11:41am-Brownwood Police responded to a burglary of the vehicle in the 1300 block of 13th Street.  The complainant stated that sometime between 11:00pm July 17th and 10:00am on July 18th 

*11:45am-Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of Terrace Drive regarding fraud.  The complainant stated that her child’s father had used the child’s identifying information to obtain phone and internet services.

*4:09pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1300 block of 3rd Street regarding found property.  The reporting party had found a bicycle.  The officer checked the serial number and found that it was not reported stolen.  It was taken to the Brownwood Police Department impound until the owner can properly identify and claim it.

*5:13pm-Brownwood Police met a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center regarding harassment.  The complainant reported he and his girlfriend had been receiving harassing text messages from an unknown subject and that he wanted them to stop.

*6:00pm-A Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to a residence on Hwy 279 where a complainant reported someone had entered their storage building and taken several tools.  The incident occurred sometime between 1:00pm and 5:00pm July 18th.  Items stolen were estimated to be over $600 in total value.

*8:29pm-Brownwod Police responded to the 1600 block of Avenue A regarding a vehicle crash.  After the investigation the driver of the vehicle was charged with Driving While Intoxicated 2nd; however he was not arrested at the scene, due to being treated at Brownwood Regional Medical Center for possible injuries.  A blood sample was obtained and was placed into evidence at Brownwood Police Department.

All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
