LECSmBrownwood Police are investigating the theft of a Caterpillar Oakland Raider edition skid steer and a flat bed trailer used to transport it.  The value of the stolen equipment was estimated at approximately $18,000.

At approximately 7:50 a.m. Wednesday morning, construction workers reported the theft of the equipment from a site in the 3500 block of Austin Avenue.   The complainant stated that he and his crew had left the skid steer and trailer parked at the back of the property at approximately 6:00 p.m. Tuesday night; however, when they returned Wednesday morning, they found both missing from the job site, the report states.

All of the employees know the combination to the lock on the job site, and according to the complainant, the lock was not cut, the report states.  A possible suspect was named in the theft and the site was investigated.   Brownwood Police found tire tracks and foot prints, along with other evidence, the report states.

The equipment was listed as stolen in both the Texas and national crime investigation center databases (TCIC and NCIC).  According to the report, at approximately 12:00 noon Wednesday, Comanche County Sheriff’s Office informed BPD that the stolen property was located at a property on County Road 157 in Comanche County.  CCSO took possession of the stolen property and had it towed to the Comanche County Jail, the report states.

Tuesday, July 15

*10:10 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 300 block of N. Main Street regarding theft.  According to the report, a female subject had stolen two 30-packs of beer.

*1:17 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was called to a residence on County Road 294 in Blanket regarding a burglary.  According to the report, someone had entered the home and taken several rifles and pistols from the residence.  Numerous tools and a tool box were also taken in the incident, according to the report.

*3:13 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to a Brownwood residence regarding a sexual assault.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her 17-year-old daughter had recently confided to her about a sexual assault that had occurred around 11 years ago.

*5:56 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2000 block of Brady Avenue regarding the burglary of a habitation.  The investigation is ongoing.

Wednesday, July 16

*9:12 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of Main Street regarding theft.  According to the report, the female subject attempted to steal beer from the store at the above location and was caught by store employees.  While speaking with the female, the officer noticed several bruises and scratches on her body.  According to the report, after questioning her regarding the injuries, a report for assault family violence was also made.

*12:33 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 600 block of W. Commerce regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that his wallet, which contained his driver’s license and $400 had been missing since July 12th, the report states.  It was discovered that the complainant had left his wallet at a convenience store where it was taken by another subject.  A possible suspect has been identified, according to the report.

*3:16 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the Driftwood Apartments regarding an assault.  According to the report, a female subject reported that she had been assaulted by her ex-boyfriend at another residence in Brownwood and that her phone had also been stolen by the subject, the report states.

*6:24 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle on US Hwy 67 West near the intersection of County Road 152 which resulted in the arrest of 30-year-old Jeremy Don Howard of Bangs for tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram and possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.  According to the report, Howard and his passenger exhibited very nervous behavior including shaking and trembling hands, and a visible pulse.  A consensual search of the vehicle located a methamphetamine pipe with residue, the report states.  Howard claimed possession of the pipe and surrendered a pill bottle containing approximately 0.6 grams of marijuana which he had concealed and hidden on his person and a box containing a baggie of approximately 0.2 grams of methamphetamine, which was located in his travel bag, according to the report.

*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 24-year-old Barton Lazaro for manufacture delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 2 or 2-A equal or greater than 4 grams less than 400 grams and possession of marijuana.

Thursday, July 17

*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 25-year-old Joshua William Blocker of San Saba for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces, possession of drug paraphernalia and open container.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 57-year-old Dale Wayne Holleman of Brownwood on multiple warrants related to failure to appear for driving while intoxicated, bail jumping, failure to identify fugitive, resist arrest and possession of marijuana.
