Wednesday, July 15
*4:30 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a residence on County Road 294 regarding the burglary of a habitation. According to the report, a Realtor who was selling the property came by to check on the home and found the front door to be unlocked and the side door kicked in.
*5:05 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a domestic disturbance at a property on W. Main Blvd. According to the report, Angela Marie Kinsey allegedly struck a male subject in the back of the head and back. She was subsequently arrested for assault with bodily injury family violence.
Thursday, July 16
*2:55 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle at the intersection of Hwy 279 and County Road 467. This stop led to the driver being detained for having a handgun in plain view. During the course of the stop, a consent search was conducted which led to the discovery of illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia throughout the vehicle, the report states. The driver, identified as Roger Claud Barnett of Coleman, was arrested for unlawful possession of firearm by felon, possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram, failure to identify fugitive and on warrants for failure to report change of address and violate promise to appear. Barnett was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of bonds totaling $19,900 as of Friday morning.
*10:20 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a convenience store on Belle Plain regarding theft. The complainant had a video of a known male subject who had stolen from the business earlier in the week and requested a criminal trespass warning issued to the male, identified as Thomas Lawson, who was arrested for an unrelated Hays County warrant (failure to appear/theft) and issued the criminal trespass warning at the jail.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 26-year-old Jonathan Ray Vasquez of Brownwood on a warrant related to the burglary of a habitation. Vasquez was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bond as of Friday morning.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 55-year-old Vick Dewayne York of Early on a warrant related to motion to adjudicate/possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram. York was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bond as of Friday morning.
