Friday, July 12

*5:02 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a residence on County Road 409 regarding the burglary of a habitation.  The complainant stated that someone had broken into the home, damaging the door frame and lock.  It was unsure if any items were taken from the home, the report states.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 41-year-old Melinda Kay Ford Crosby for allowing a minor relative to underage drink until he became upset and began walking and staggering down the road on Hwy 279 in the lanes of traffic, according to sheriff’s reports.  The report states that minor could have been injured or possibly killed by a vehicle if left walking down the highway.  Crosby had earlier bought whiskey at a store on Park Road 15 and had allowed the male and two other minors to drink some of it, the report states.  She told the deputy that things had gotten “a little out of hand.”  Crosby was arrested and charged with abandoning/endangering a child and purchase/furnish alcohol to a minor.  The minor relative was taken to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center where he was evaluated, and the other two minors were released to their parents, the report states.

Saturday, July 13

*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was called to a residence in the 1700 block of Avenue D regarding an assault which occurred in the county.  According to the report, the 34-year-old victim stated that she was assaulted by her 18-year-old son.

*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a home on 3rd Street in Blanket regarding theft.  According to the report, the owner of the mobile home stated that a tenant had moved out of the home in February and that when he and his wife came recently to clean up the property, they noticed that the water heater and propane tank were missing.  A handwritten sign had been found which showed that the tenant was selling a propane tank and water heater for $300, the report states.  The owners have not been able to locate the tenant since the items were noted to be missing, according to the report.

Sunday, July 14

*1:18 PM – Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of criminal mischief.  According to the report, the complainant’s car had been “keyed” while he was at the lake the day before.

*7:05 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy was called to the area of Spring Lake West regarding a burglary of a habitation.  According to the report, the complainant stated that someone had walked into his home and taken money that was on the entertainment center.

Monday, July 15

*6:26 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 300 block of Center Avenue regarding harassment.  According to the report, the complainant stated that a female neighbor had repeatedly slid letters under the complainant’s front door that reference their mutual friendship with a male neighbor.  The complainant wished to have no further contact of any kind with the female neighbor, the report states.  The officer spoke with the female neighbor, who admitted to the letters; however was evasive about agreeing to have no further contact with the complainant, according to the report.

*9:53 AM – Brownwood Police responded to the 1600 block of Good Shepherd Drive regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, the complainant stated that an unknown subject had broken the handle to her vehicle’s door.

*10:40 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 3700 block of Vine Street regarding indecency with a child.  According to BPD officials, a 17-year-old male touched and made inappropriate statements to a 13-year-old female at a church function.  The incident is under investigation according to the report.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an assault which occurred Sunday on Waco Street in Brownwood.  According to the report, the complainant stated that a known male subject followed her as she walked to her home, overtook her, pushing her to the ground in an open field on Waco Street.  The complainant stated that her right knee and right elbow were injured during the incident, the report states.  No bruising was present and the complainant refused medical treatment, according to the report.

*Brownwood Police arrested 51-year-old Shannon Wade Brincefield for theft of property equal or greater than $50 less than $500.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 19-year-old Adam Raymond Castillo on three warrants related to driving without lights when required, no driver’s license and failure to appear/no driver’s license.

*Brownwood Police arrested 35-year-old Amanda Rene Crisp on a Washington County warrant for non-payment of child support.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 27-year-old Sonja Rene Nelson of Bangs on a warrant for motion to adjudicate/two counts of injury to a child.

*30-year-old Daniel Patrick Welch turned himself in on a warrant related to assault causes bodily injury family violence.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 47-year-old Cary Colin Wolf of Bangs for injury to the elderly.

Tuesday, July 16

* Brownwood Police arrested 50-year-old Terrie Tabor Lemmons of Blanket for theft of property equal or greater than $50 less than $500 and criminal trespass.
