Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Mitchell Best of Comanche stopped a Ford truck that was pulling another truck early Friday morning, just after midnight, 7 miles inside Brown County on U.S. Hwy 377 S.  It was stopped for an equipment violation.  According to DPS officials, consent was given to search the vehicle and the K-9 officer was brought to help in the search.

According to DPS Sgt. Jason Shae, the K-9 alerted on the vehicle; however no drugs were located, instead cash totaling $31,420 was found to be split between the two vehicles.  The two occupants, 37-year-old Nolberto Dehoyos and 37-year-old Javier Torres both of Del Rio were each charged with Money Laundering Equal or Greater than $20,000 less than $100,000.

In May, another man was arrested and found to be carrying almost $700,000 in cash in his vehicle which was believed to be related to the Mexican drug cartel.

No word if these new arrests are related to the previous incident.

*4:35pm-Brownwood Police were called to a hit and run accident in the 1700 block of Melwood.  Officers spoke with witnesses who heard and saw the accident.  According to the report, the suspect vehicle is described as an older model white Chevy Suburban.  No further suspect information was available.

Thursday, July 14

DelarosaMario*Brownwood Police arrested 58-year-old Mario Humberto Delarosa  on a warrant Thursday based on charges that were filed on June 28, 2011.  Delarosa is charged with two counts of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child Under 14.  The incidents with two female children began around February or March of this year according to police officials.   Brownwood Police Department received information that Delarosa was planning to leave town and arrested him at Kohler on Thursday.  He is being held on bonds totaling $200,000.

*8:44am-Brownwood Police were called to the 1800 block of Waco in reference to an unwanted person.  The complainant wished that a trespass be issued to a former guest who had stayed at the residence off and on for the past three years.  She further explained that he did not help pay any of the bills or help with any of the maintenance of the residence the report states.    The man was issued a trespass warning for the property

*1:27pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to 401 W. Commerce, Wal-Mart, regarding burglary of a vehicle.  The complainant stated that during the incident a portable DVD player in a leather carrying case was taken.

*2:57pm-Brownwood Police responded to the 1300 block regarding suspicious activity at a home that had recently been involved in a fire.  Two subjects were located and issued trespass warnings for the property.  No charges were filed at this time and the subjects were released at the scene.

*4:28pm-Brownwood Police were called to 401 W. Commerce, Wal-Mart, regarding theft.  According to the report, a loss prevention employees had a female detained after witnessing her conceal a package of boys underwear, a package of boys socks and youth sized athletic shoes.  All items totaled $24.14, the report states.  The female was issued a citation for theft less than $50 and a criminal trespass warning.
