Law enforcement reports and arrests released July 14, 2011.

Wednesday, July 13

*6:23pm-Brownwood Police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 300 block of Bluffview.  The 34-year-old female victim had fled to a neighboring apartment and the suspect remained at the location of the offense.  According to police officials, the reporting officer noted that the victim had several scratches, a busted lip and a large bump on her head.  During the interview with the victim, the officer heard another officer call for assistance with the suspect, identified as 32-year-old Juan Hernandez who was resisting arrest the report states.  Hernandez continued to resist arrest, was taken to the ground and had to be “Tasered”, according to the report.  Hernandez was arrested on charges of Assault on a Public Servant, Resist Arrest and Assault with Injury Family Violence by Strangulation.  At the request of the victim, an emergency protective order was filed.

*10:53pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of Avenue E regarding criminal mischief.  The complainant stated that over the past two days, someone had pried screens off of two exterior windows.  No suspects were known at the time of the report.

Thursday, July 14

*12:11am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to 401 W. Commerce regarding theft.  Upon the officer’s arrival, he found a male subject, identified as 42-year-old Chad William Beasley, to be intoxicated.  According to the report, management stated that they had observed Beasley take a bottle of wine off of a shelf and put it into his pants.  Further investigation found that Beasley had removed the UPC code in an attempt to steal the bottle of wine, the report states.  Beasley was subsequently arrested for Fraudulent Destruction of Writing and Public Intoxication.

*1:30am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1300 block of 13th Street regarding an assault.  According to the report, the victim showed apparent minor injuries and stated that she was assaulted by a known female who was not on scene.  The suspect female could not be located at the time of the report.  An investigation is pending.

*1:47am-Brownwood Police were called to the 2200 block of 12th Street regarding burglary of a vehicle.  According to the report, the complainant explained to the responding officer that she had left the vehicle unlocked. Sometime between the hours of 11:00pm on July 13th and 1:45am on July 14th, someone had opened the driver’s side door and removed several items of clothing and a wallet that was laying on the passenger seat the report states.  The wallet was reported to contain identification as well as $350, the report states.

*Early Police Department arrested 20-year-old Travis Joseph Lawson for Disorderly Conduct and Minor in Consumption of Alcohol.

All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
