Law Enforcement arrests and reports released Wednesday, July 14, 2010.
Sunday, July 11
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of theft. The report stated that the victim had met the suspect over the Internet and after several weeks of chatting, allowed him to stay with her over the weekend. According to the report, the victim stated there was no physical relationship and that she was scammed into leaving the house. While she was gone, the suspect took her 42” television valued at $1900. He has not been seen since.
Monday, July 12
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of theft of $4150. The victim had written a check to an individual to buy material to build hay storage and a barn. The check was written in December and the suspect has not bought any material or started the project. At the time of the report, no arrest had been made.
*At 8:26 am, Brownwood Police were called to the 400 block of West Commerce in regards to theft. According to police reports, the loss prevention officer told police that two unknown males stole approximately $1525 worth of merchandise from the electronics department over the weekend. Surveillance video showed two males committing the thefts on two different occasions in the time frame of 2 1/2 -3 hours. The video and a list of the stolen items were taken as evidence and a report filed.
*Approximately 10:00 am, Brownwood Police were called to the 2000 block of 4th Street regarding criminal mischief. According to the report the homeowner discovered that someone had spray painted large writing on their privacy fence.
*Around 11:45am, Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of Davis Lane regarding a burglary. The complainant told police that two suspects had broken into their apartment while the she and her roommate were out of town. According to the report, forcible entry into the apartment as well as the roommate’s bedroom was evident. A flat screen television was stolen from the roommate’s bedroom. The flat screen television was recorded as stolen/lost.
*At 4:33pm, Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3700 block of Savoy due to a domestic disturbance. According to the police report, two sisters had been involved in a physical altercation. Charges were filed regarding the incident.
*At 7:30pm Brownwood Police responded to the 700 block of W. Commerce regarding a Burglary of a Building. According to police reports, investigation determined that several items were missing from the building. A report has been filed.
Tuesday, July 13
*At 7:14am, Brownwood Police responded to the 2000 block of Brady regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, after an interview with the complainant, a suspect was identified; however no arrest had been made at the time of the report.
*Shortly before 8:00am, Brownwood Police responded to the 2200 block of 1st Street in regard to Criminal Mischief. A large area of graffiti had been spray painted on a brick privacy fence.
*Around 8:12am, Brownwood Police met with Parks and Recreation Assistant Director Artie Ragland. An unknown suspect spray painted three areas of graffiti at Coggin Park.
*At 9:52am, Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1100 block of Main Street, in reference to a burglary. According to the report an unknown suspect made forced entry into the building just behind the main church. An investigation into the burglary is ongoing.
*At 10:19am, Brownwood Police were called to the 1800 block of 2nd Street in reference to theft. According to the report, the complainant gave police a name of a possible suspect that may have stolen her medication and remotes to her television and satellite. The victim stated the offense occurred while she was out of town for the weekend.
*Around 11:30, Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of Walnut in reference to a burglary of a vehicle. According to the report, an investigation concluded that the unknown suspect entered the vehicle through an unlocked door and then stole the stereo equipment.
*At 11:43, Brownwood Police were called to the 2100 block of Avenue D regarding an assault. After interviewing the complainant, it was determined that an assault had occurred as well as theft and criminal mischief. A suspect has been named; however no arrest had been made at the time of the report.
Wednesday, July 14
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 48-year-old Theresa Lorraine Huckaby for Possession of Marijuana less than 2 oz.
All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
