A Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy received a tip to look at a fireworks stand off of Hwy 183 near Heartland Mall regarding trash that was being left near it.

The deputy went to the stand and noticed a brush pile where someone had thrown empty fireworks packing boxes, empty fast food containers, furniture and other household trash on top of it.  The deputy looked inside the stand attempting to locate information relating to the person who had been running it.  No such information was found; however a seat cushion that matched a cushion found in the pile was found inside the stand.  Because there is another stand from the same company on Belle Plain, the deputy went to that location and spoke with a representative of the company who stated that two men from the Houston area were running the Early stand. The other operator she would clean up the area and fine the other individuals.   The deputy warned the company representative that if the pile was not cleaned up in the next few days, they would be contacted for information on the two men and charges would be filed.  The deputy was contacting the corporate owners of the fireworks stand regarding the matter.
