Friday, July 8
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint regarding the burglary of a habitation. According to the report, the offense was believed to have occurred sometime between the morning of May 8th and July 8th. An investigation is ongoing, the report states.
Saturday, July 9
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made contact with a driver regarding the expired registration sticker displayed on the vehicle. According to the report, a consent search was made during the stop, which led to the discovery of an eye glasses case which contained 0.9 grams of methamphetamine in packaging, a clear glass pipe and two cotton swabs in a compartment above the center console. The vehicle was released to the passenger and the driver, Joe Bush, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram.
Monday, July 11
*9:25 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy responded to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center regarding an assault. According to the report, a female stated that her ex-boyfriend had assaulted her on July 8th at her home.*12:00 PM – Brownwood Police were notified of a vehicle which was stolen out of Mineral Wells, Texas and given information that the vehicle, a Ford-150, was possibly in Brownwood and occupied by a female identified as 22-year-old Ashley Nicole Brooks. According to the report, the vehicle was located by a BPD officer at a hotel in the 500 block of E. Commerce where he arrived to find a male subject exiting the vehicle. The male, identified as 23-year-old Charles Ragsdale of Mineral Wells, Texas fled upon sight of the officer’s arrival, the report states. Ragsdale fled from the complex to small field where an officer was able to locate him and took him into custody, according to the report. The female passenger was identified as Brooks and found to have an active warrant for theft out of Palo Pinto County, police state. Brooks was arrested on the warrant and was uncooperative with officers, the report states. She arrived at the jail and was found to have in her mouth three pieces of a green pill identified as alprazolam, according to the report. Brooks was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, possession of a controlled substance penalty group 3 less than 28 grams in a drug free zone, tamper/fabricate physical evidence with intent to impair, prohibited substance in correctional facility. Ragsdale was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, evading arrest detention and on a blue warrant.
*3:04 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1600 block of 11th Street regarding found property. According to the report, several items including designer purses, shoes, jeans and miscellaneous pieces of jewelry were found. These items and this case are linked to another case and a suspect has been named, the report states.
Tuesday, July 12
*Brownwood Police arrested 57-year-old James Clement Dunn of Brownwood for public intoxication.
