Monday, July 5
*Shortly before 12:00pm, Brownwood Police were called to the 2200 block of Crockett in response to a report of a burglary of a building and criminal mischief. No suspect information was available.
Wednesday, July 7
*At 11:55am, Brownwood Police were dispatched to CVS where the manager informed the officer of an unwanted person. This call led to 2 criminal trespass warnings being issued.
*Around 2:45pm, Brownwood Police received a report of a runaway juvenile. After a brief search the juvenile returned home.
Thursday, July 8
* At approximately 9:25pm, Officer Steven Means responded to Heartland Mall after receiving a call of an individual urinating by a vehicle in the parking lot near the theaters. Officer Means observed the vehicle leaving as he approached the parking lot. Officer Means stopped the vehicle and spoke with 43-year-old Paul Martin Salinas of Comanche. After obtaining witness statements and Salinas admitting to the offense, Officer Means placed him under arrest for Disorderly Conduct. While searching Salinas Officer Means located several spoons and syringes all which had heavy drug residue on them. The paraphernalia tested positive for Methamphetamine. Salinas was additionally charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Friday, July 9
*11:30pm, Brownwood Police were called to the 800 block of Penn Street regarding a theft. After an investigation it was determined that a theft had occurred. A possible suspect has been entered into the computer system and a report generated.
*12:30pm, Brownwood Police received a report of a theft of money. The complainant explained that money was stolen from his father’s house. A report was generated.
*At 1:33pm Brownwood Police were called to the 2700 block of Elizabeth regarding child abuse or neglect. Subsequent investigation led the officer to another address in the 2600 block of 1st Street where 36-year-old William Orr was arrested for Child Endangerment, Possession of Marijuana less than 2 oz. and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
*At 5:27pm, Brownwood Police were called to the 1300 block of 13th Street in reference to theft. The complainant stated that a suspect had helped her move a couch, and after he left, her digital camera that had been on the coffee table was missing. The victim also stated that her uncle had been approached by the suspect to buy a digital camera that matched the description of the stolen camera. No arrest had been made at the time of the report.
*Around 5:30pm, Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2600 block of Avenue E regarding the theft of a bicycle. Upon completion of the investigation, a juvenile was arrested for theft over $50, less than $500.
*At 8:28pm, Brownwood Police were called to the 200 block of S. Broadway in reference to an intoxicated person. Upon arrival, the subject was located in the Kroger parking lot. Investigation and field tests led to the arrest of 35-year-old Stephanie Dane Hughes for Public Intoxication
*At 9:25pm, Brownwood Police received a report of theft. A woman had left her wallet on top of her vehicle while attempting to pump gas at the Allsup’s in the 1100 block of Coggin. When she drove away, the wallet fell to the parking lot. When the victim realized what happened, she turned around to retrieve the wallet. Witnesses on scene told her that several males in a green truck picked up her wallet and drove off with it. Theft charges have been filed on behalf of the victim.
Saturday, July 10
*Bangs Police Department arrested 41-year-old Shawn Patrick Cross for Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Paraphernalia.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 20-year-old Anthony Michael Tibbetts for Assault Family Violence Causing Bodily Injury.
*At 12:32pm, Brownwood Police were called to Hastings regarding a hit and run. Officers made contact with complainant who was shopping when an unknown vehicle struck the complainant’s parked vehicle.
*At 1:36pm, Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 4300 block of US Hwy 377 in reference to a burglary of a building. No suspect information was available.
*Around 2pm Brownwood Police were called in regard to a terroristic threat. The suspect was located in the 3M parking lot. Further investigation led to the arrest of the suspect, identified as 24-year-old John C. Vian for Public Intoxication.
*At 5:04pm, Brownwood Police were dispatched to the intersection of 13th and Coggin Avenue in reference to a found bicycle. The owner may claim at the Brownwood Police Department with correct identification of the bicycle.
*Brown County Sheriff’s office responded to a report of a burglarized storage shed on County Road 472. A four wheeler and two floor jacks were stolen. The incident is under investigation.
*Approximately 10:30pm while working security for a dance at the coliseum, Brownwood Police Officer Taylor was advised by dispatch that a subject at a residence in the 500 block of Milton was bragging about a gun he had stolen from an officer. Since the location was directly behind the Coliseum, Officer Taylor responded to the area. The subject was located and then fled on foot. The suspect, a juvenile, was taken into custody at E. Chandler and Greenleaf. The suspect tossed a firearm during the foot chase, which was later located. The juvenile was arrested for Evading Arrest and Detention.
Sunday, July 11
*Shortly after midnight, Early Police conducted a traffic stop which led to the arrest of three teens on drug charges. According to Early Police Chief of Police David Mercer, Officer John Mills and Sgt. Shawn Dibrell stopped a vehicle on Sunrise Drive for the traffic violation.
As Officer Mills approached the vehicle, he could smell an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle the report states. The occupants, all three 18-year-old males from Coleman, were asked to exit the vehicle. The three were identified as Chad Allen Robison (the driver), Zachary Polk and Jacob Cantu. As officers searched the vehicle, they located a baggie of marijuana and a glass light bulb that had been converted to a meth pipe which contained methamphetamine states the report.
The three teens all admitted to knowledge and use of the pipe and the marijuana. Consequently Robison, Polk and Cantu were each arrested for Possession of Marijuana, less than or equal to 2oz. in a drug free zone; Possession of Controlled Substance, penalty grade 1, less than 1 gram; and Minor in Possession.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 20-year-old Gerald Eli Ward II for Driving While Intoxicated.
*At 5:00 pm, Brownwood Police were called to the 1100 block of Clements in reference to employee theft greater than $50. An investigation is ongoing.
*At 6:36pm Brownwood Police were dispatched in reference to a burglary. Investigation of the incident led to the arrest of the suspect, identified as 34-year-old Michael Royce Hobbs for Burglary with Intent to Commit Assault and Retaliation. Investigation led to seeking a warrant for another subject for Tampering with Evidence.
*At 7:36pm, Brownwood Police were called to the 1200 block of 3rd Street in reference to a traffic hazard. Upon arrival the officer observed a white female walking in the roadway. It was determined that the female, identified as 48-year-old Glenda Kay Cornelius, was intoxicated. Cornelius was arrested for Public Intoxication.
*Approximately 10pm, Brownwood Police were called to the 1800 block of Slayden regarding a domestic dispute. A male complainant explained that his ex-wife had entered his apartment and kicked him in the groin area. The female, identified as 37-year-old Brenda Sanchez, admitted to the offense and was arrested for Assault with Injury Family Violence.
*At 10:07pm, a Brownwood Police officer was dispatched to the 3700 block of Savoy Drive regarding theft. After an interview and investigation was conducted, it was determined that an aggravated assault causing bodily injury had occurred from dating violence. Two subjects, identified as 45-year-old Billie Logan and 38-year-old Sherri Burnett were arrested and transported to the Brown County Jail.
Monday, July 12
*At 3:58 am, Brownwood Police were called in reference to an assault between two females. An investigation determined that both had been fighting mutually. A male subject on scene, 24-year-old Charles Houston Mood, was arrested for local warrants. All Subjects on scene were intoxicated. One female was inside her residence not in the parking lot. Upon the officer’s arrival, the other female was intoxicated and in the parking lot attempting to leave with an infant child. This female, identified as 21-year-old Alicia Diana Green of Goldthwaite, was arrested for Public Intoxication and the infant was released to a family friend.
All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
