Monday, June 29

*7:19 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1100 block of Victoria regarding harassment.  According to the report, the complainant was being harassed by her ex-boyfriend.  The situation and an investigation are ongoing, the report states.

*12:36 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3300 block of Stephen F. Austin regarding theft.  According to the report, the matter was determined to be a civil issue and the parties were referred to the justice of the peace.

*4:16 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 600 block of Melwood regarding an assault with injury.  According to the report, a victim was identified and issued information about family violence and an investigation is ongoing.

*7:24 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3600 block of Austin Avenue regarding the burglary of a building.  Items stolen included antiques, currency and power tools, according to the report.

Tuesday, June 30

*4:46 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the law enforcement center regarding forgery.  According to the report, a check in the amount of $200 had been written on her account with her signature forged on the check.  The check was made out to a female relative of the complainant and also believed to have been forged by that same relative, the report states.  The complainant stated the female relative has been living with her off and on recently, which may have given the relative opportunity to take the check, the report states.

*9:47 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the intersection of Austin Avenue and Fisk regarding a motorcycle accident with injury.  According to the report, the male driver, identified as 21-year-old Chance Watkins of Bangs, and a female passenger both were transported to the hospital for evaluation and treatments of their injuries.  Watkins was treated for a possible head injury.  A witness stated that Watkins appeared to have been doing a “wheelie” when he lost control of the motorcycle and crashed into the curb, the report states.  Watkins was found to have been driving without a valid license and it was learned that he had consumed alcohol prior to driving the motorcycle, according to the report.  A blood draw was taken for evidence and sent to the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Lab, according to the officer’s report.  When Watkins condition improved later that night and he was about to be released, hospital staff contacted the officer and he was arrested for driving while license invalid with previous convictions.

*Brownwood Police arrested 21-year-old Steven Frias of Brownwood for public intoxication.
